You can only go around in an Italian-speaking tour. There is no English option, though there is a leaflet in English and people helped translate the guide's info for us. It is remarkably intact and boasts a rich history of the local family that owned...More

We had a great guided tour. The Castle is amazing, big, full of details. Once you enter, you can really feel how was life inside the castle many years ago. A great attraction in Sermoneta!

Have been to this castle twice. The massiveness of it is just amazing. The tour takes you through all the various buildings and explains the history of each section. From when it was first built, to when the Borgias took it over, and then when...More

Visiting this town and castle is like taking a step back in time. My only regret is that there wasn't an English tour. You are required to join the tour group there is no wondering on your own.

This is a perfect example of what a castle should be for a child. Perched right on top of the hill in Sermoneta it commands 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside. It is quite a feat to get to the castle entrance as you...More

A castle from the 13th century, a strategic point between Rome and Naples, a military fortress build and rebuild by a pope and the Caetani family, even the Borgia family. The main tower hosts the tent-bed of the lord of the castle in perfect state....More

This castle which dominates the hill town of Sermoneta is the former residence of the ruling Caetani family. It is a magnificent and well-maintained medieval castle within steps of the town's piazza. It offers a fascinating story of the strategic importance of the town in...More
