Home away from home. Sandy white sands, crystal clear waters. This is Pass Island! No need to take a 2 hour boat ride from Coron!
From the Busuanga airport, take a 25 minute private van to the Concepcion or Sagrada town then a 20 minute boat ride.

This is a beautiful island! Takes a long time to get there from Coron but very worth it. I would reccomend staying overnight, waking up to this place on your own is a dream. There is a tour operator called Big Dream Boat Man Coron which includes the overnight stay on pass island in their tour

Pass Island is probably the best beach you can find in all of Coron. Not only do you find powdery white sand, but you also get crystal clear blue waters, a protected coral reef with different sea life you will enjoy seeing. They have tents and gazebos for guests to enjoy and the bathrooms are more than decent. For the small entrance fee it is definitely a bargain to have. I have taken the overnight packages directly from the owner of Pass Island, and all I can say is that it is totally worth it. I would definitely recommend this beautiful island to anyone who wants to see a slice of paradise!

We visited the island for lunch along with every other tour. We were here for two hours, had food and did a bit of snorkeling - pretty mediocre.
What really disappointed me was the locals/villagers abuse of animals on the island. They were constantly encouraging one dog to maul other dogs/cats and they continually beat a small monkey tied to a post. The children on the island even participated throwing basketballs at the monkey and even kicking it. They’re obviously so bored that animal cruelty is the only entertainment they get.
Many of the other tourists were horrified. Some were picking up the animals and taking them to the lunch tables to keep them from being harmed.

Good thing that we have a very good guide. She's the one who sold me the idea of going here. It's would be better if you eat on the boat, not the island because fine white sand can be blown to your food (quite exaggerated but really, it's windy). Just wade for a few meters from the beach until the water level reaches your lower chest, use your snorkeling gear and you'll see life teeming underneath: territorial fish that don't bite, corals, sea anemone with clown fish and giant clams. Of course, the waters are oh so blue.

Beautiful island. Good snorkeling. Almost as good as it's neighbor Calambuyan. Rent a boat and check them both out for possibly the best snorkeling in the Philippines. No joke. I have snorkeled literally all over the Philippines and the reef off of Calumbuyan and Pass were two of the best.

Fine white sand. Clear blue water. This island is much closer than Malcapuya. Our tour guide told us that the owner of Pass Island is also the owner of Malcapuya.
The island offers overnight accommodation and according to our guide from Coron Village Lodge, the day tour entrance fee is Php300/person if I'm not mistaken. They can also arrange a tour is we want to stay overnight the next time for an affordable rate. We had our lunch here.
The island is well maintained with clean restrooms. It has a great beach while the other side of the island has mangrove trees. I sooo enjoyed the starfishes there! There's a colony of dragon starfish we played with. Took a lot pictures with it! Shallow part of the beach has some rocks but not the type that could wound you.
It was a great day there. It felt like the whole island is ours. There's a few hammocks where you can take a nap and just relax all day. I can't wait to go back!

Back in 2009 we got stranded in this island for 17 hours after our boat's engine broke down. We had no food, no water as we were supposed to be Coron at noon for lunch. We had some breakfast of fish and rice that we brought with us but little did we know we were going to be stuck in the island until 2:30 am the next day. The lone caretaker of the island left us at 5 PM and everybody were gone. The island back then did not have electricity nor a bathroom as it was just a stopover and nobody lived there, just the caretaker who took off at 5pm..we were informed by the boat captain that it would take 8 more hours to fix the engine and refuel. It became a bit of a nightmare when darkness enveloped the skyline. The nearest people were fishermen and guards patrolling the pearl farm. Mosquitoes had a grand time that evening, they had a smorgasboard and were on the menu.
Isla Pass is a paradize and all but be ready for unforeseen circumstances like we what we went through 9 years ago.
Regardless, our Isla Pass experience was one for the books. :)

Pass Island! My favorite island in Northern Palawan. Gorgeous beach, soft white sand, clear turquoise water, great snorkeling, sweetest chocolate lab and completely silent at night except the sound of the waves...bliss. We heard that the island gets up to 200 day trippers who pay 250 pesos/person. It's hard to imagine as we arrived at 3'ish and just saw 1 panga leaving.
There were about 8 bungalows on the island but we were the only guests. We stayed in a large beachfront family bungalow with a queen bed and 2 smaller single beds which fit our 4 young boys. We had 2 large fans that kept us cool all night. They didn't have mozzie nets but you didn't need them as we didn't see any during our time there which was surprising.
Electricity runs from 6pm-6am so you can charge phones/cameras at night. There are 5-6 tented dining tables with chairs. There is no kitchen/cooking facilities for guests so you need to bring your own food. So even our cruise staff had to cook on the boat and then bring the food onto the island.
There are 2 shower rooms with only cold water and 2 toilets (pour water into the bowl). Both were clean and well maintained. There is a basketball court in the middle of the island.
The snorkeling if great right off the beach. There are many kinds of corals but there weren't than many fish. There are large shoals of tiny fish that are often chased by a barrcuda or triggerfish so they jump out of the water. The water is so clear and clean.
The staff are out on the beach starting at 6am, raking the beach of leaves and other debris. They are quite meticulous and even wash the leaves in the ocean water so that the beautiful white sand doesn't get mixed in with the leaves which are later burned on the other side of the island.
There is a path leading up to a view point which is lovely for sundowners. The views overlooking the other islands nearby as the sun sets is beautiful. Don't forget to wear shoes as the path is quite rocky.
Also surprised there were no sand flies which is usually a problem on throughout Asian beaches. There was a constant breeze off the water which kept the temperatures at night cool and comfortable.
Contact Big Dream Boat Man in Coron about their cruises as staying here overnight was a highlight of our charter cruise itinerary.

hi cil,
yes they have open cottages where you can stay over night.
The best way to reach this island is out of Coron.
Food and drinks are to organize themselves.
