we had a private guide that knew everything. I learned so much i need a strong rum after to process. Very physical day with lots of sun. beautiful site

Well worth the trip and the visit. Large complex of temples and other Mayan facilities...highest temple is 130' above plaza. Guides are available to bring visitors around...they have the knowledge to share and make it very interesting. Requires admission fee and a ferry ride across...More

Clouded in fog, you could really visualize what life was like for the ancient Mayans. Probably best to see this with a guide to understand all that transpired here.

We visited Xunantunich last February and liked it a lot. It is smaller than Tikal which we also visited but we found it as interesting and less crowded.
