It’s a cute cathedral but definitely better to view in the evening especially when the street is busy with people after 10pm....

This church is well preserved and a testament to the colonial period of this city. If you are in Campeche you should definitely take the 20-30 minutes to explore this cathedral.

Visiting the cathedral near the Plaza Principal is a must-do on your itinerary. There is also a small museum accessible through a courtyard off the side of the cathedral.

Although it seems to be just another cathedrale there are some nice litte places. I liked the cemetery just outside and the bells (one with a hole through it from battles). Checkout the museum as well, worth to have quick look here.

Helpful and friendly museum attendant shared much specific information on the pieces. Of particular interest was the painting of the black Jesus (Not jj Evans version haha)... highly recommend stopping in.

I'll start with a tip: after you visit the cathedral, exit by the door on the left (as viewed from the entrance). This will lead you to a hidden gem: a very pleasing patio where you can sit and relax. I was there at night...More

Campeche seems to be a jewel to explore, not much said about it compared to other places in Mexico, but it has a beautiful arquitecture and so much to explore. Interesting main square, great restaurants and cantinas and beautiful artisan shops. The square is full...More

Beautifully maintained and well lighted inside and out. Go twice, during the daytime and then at night, well worth it.
