About
Blue Hole Mineral Spring sits 24 feet below the ground in a cavernous opening completely encased by Karst limestone. The natural mineral water in the spring is 35 feet deep; However, the edges of the spring are shallow for guests to stand or sit down. Thrill seekers and staff entertain guests with dives only a daredevil can perform. Some guests jump into the spring, others choose to climb in using a safe iron ladder. Naturally occurring minerals in Blue Hole Mineral Spring are recognized for their therapeutic value. Guests often enjoy a Blue Hole Mineral massage where staff will purify, exfoliate, and soften your skin. Reviewers sure seem to be pleased with the results.

I read about this place online, but actually found the blue hole in Ocho Rios first (I later found out there are three "blue holes" in Jamaica, with one in Negril, which was the one I ended up visiting). From my perspective, it reminds me of a giant cavern with water in it. I'm a little afraid of heights so my initial glance into the hole actually struck me with a little fear. But there is a metal staircase going down, and it wasn't scary once I got down the stairs. The water is shockingly clear, so clear you can see little fish swimming around even from up above. There is limestone in the cave as well; I scraped a little off the wall with my hand but you can also pay to get a body massage with the limestone if you want. There are two rocky shallow areas on either side where you can kind of rest, but otherwise the water is quite deep (I think the deepest part is 35 feet, per my boyfriend who looked it up), so you have to tread water. As a side note, you can also jump into the hole from the top if you wish, it's probably about a 20 foot drop so I myself was uninterested, but my boyfriend did it a couple of times and seemed to have fun doing so! I enjoyed the experience overall, I really would recommend a visit if you find yourself in Negril and enjoy water experiences and/or cave-like areas.

This place has a mineral pool, a local massage Centre, a bar, food & a water hole jump which is great fun. It’s not an all day place, but at a $10 entry fee, you don’t mind spending just a couple of hours. They offer tours of a weed plantation from here if that’s your thing

Blue Hole Mineral Spring is an exciting attraction, however it's quite far from common tourist places, like Negril or Montego Bay. You can drive there yourself, but the road is in horrible condition, so if you don't mind paying extra for a taxi driver, I recommend it for the peace of your mind.
The access is $20/person and you can also use the swimming pool next to the hole. You can also climb up the building which is there for an amazing view. There is also a bar where you can take drinks.
You can either jump in the hole or descent on the ladder. The water on the edges of the hole is shallow enough to perch and take a rest.

We felt very uncomfortable. A group of guys claiming they are tour guides and all the do is try to touch the girls in the water and act like everything is okay. I will never recommend and or go back to this location. If you want to feel uncomfortable then this is the place to go.

The blue hole is pretty cool, but wasnt even open when i first got there. We walked around and nobody really seemed like the wanted to help us. Took forever before we even got inside. Where basically standing outside while all the workers stood around and wabba bsing with them. Then some guy comes out with these bloody fresh decapitated goat heads and flops them down on a table. I was the for the weed farm tour and blue hole, but they didnt seem very interested in showing me the farm and just sent some guy to let me look at it . dude didnt talk, or explain much at all. once we got up the blue hole and mineral spring there as nobody around for a while. nobody working the bar or the hole itself. even tho this was prebooked in advance . the worst part was these dogs that were walking around with their spines and ribs showing cause they were starving. while the workers including wabba himself seems well fed. if you go enjoy the hole, make it a quick trip and get on with your day.

We arrived and were not 100% sure we wanted to jump into the water. We were told at our resort that it was $10 pp. When we got there we were told it was $20 a person to jump, we wanted to view what we would be jumping into. The girl wouldn't let us even look without paying $10 each and then said we had 3 mins. to decide. There was scum on the water and looked NOTHING like the pictures. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled like urine. Overall a very sketchy feel.

Went to the Blue Hole with Maureen and Nitro who run “Every Likkle Ting you Need” out of Negril - can find them on TripAvdvisor and Facebook, they’re awesome people. It’s a long beautiful ride to a pretty chill area with a nice bar, beautiful spring fed pool, the mineral cave and a cannabis growing/buying operation. I jumped, it was worth it! We’d def return for the pool/bar vibes and of course the excellent cannabis. My husband has never done a farm tour so it was worth $10 pp to see it

Blue Hole is a real gem and definitely needs to be on your Jamaica holiday bucket list. It's an easy 30 minute drive from Negril making it perfect for an afternoon excursion. The natural mineral water is super refreshing and can be enjoyed in their in ground pool or by braving the 25ft descent by jumping or taking the ladder into the cavern to experience this magical oasis.
The food and drinks (dirty bananas are a personal favourite) never fail to impress and are very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and the lifeguards' daredevil jumps and flips are entertaining and helped to encourage me to take the plunge on more than one occasion. If you can make the time, I recommend enjoying a mineral scrub massage; your aching muscles will thank you. There is also a large ganja farm on site that you can tour that produces some of the best weed on the island. I'd definitely include a visit to Blue Hole on your next trip to Jamaica; you won't be disappointed.

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Jamaica where I stayed at a resort nestled in the beautiful Jamaican hills called the Blue Hole Resort and Springs. This was actually my second visit to the area, but I did not stay at the Blue Hole on my first visit. However, I did visit to see this infamous hole on the resort property where people dive, swim, and can receive a massage using the rich minerals found in the hole.
This time I want to review the resort. First of all, it is beautiful, rustic, fun and quiet all at the same time. My room was beyond comfortable, decorated very nicely. I absolutely fell in love with the shower. It was made up of the gorgeous rocks and pieces of coral and shells from the sea. Absolutely stunning to say the least. The owner of the resort, Mr. Wellington Clayton, better known around the community as "Waba" and his family and friends are simply wonderful and accommodating. The food, prepared by his wife, Shanna, was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh caught and I watched them clean and cut perfect medallions. All of their seafood is fresh from the sea. Nothing frozen or preserved. It is caught, prepared and served to you. It was such a lovely experience interacting with everyone there.
The resort is approximately two hours from Montego Bay (Sangster International) airport. It is a fun ride to and from. The resort also features a swimming pool, bar, a gift shop that will be completed shortly and tours of the island can be arranged. I truly had a fantastic time. If you are looking for the perfect getaway, this is the place to go. It is not as commercial as Sandals and some of the other big-name resorts but the service you receive and the hospitality of the lovely people there can never be duplicated.
If you are interested in additional information, photos, etc. please send an email to victoriaaborneman@gmail.com. You won't regret it.

Amazing experience! Ask for Super Mario. He is an amazing tour guide at the blue hole. They have a pool, rooftop, hotel, bar, ganja farm and more. $20 per your per person at this location. Dive into the blue hole and watch other divers entertain by jumping from the trees!

Are there two Blue Holes? I see one by Negril and one by Ochos. If so, which one is in all of the pics and the one to see?
Written 16 January 2020
The Blue hole in Negril is a mineral spring . It has a ladder you climb down to get in ( unless you're brave enough to jump). There are 3 shallow areas inside where you can stand . The Blue hole spring in Ocho Rios is a spring to swim and waterfalls you can climb .
Written 28 January 2020
Yes. The guys working/hanging out there are fantastic. Just know the hole is about a 25 ft jump. However, there is also a pool close by to the hole that they could use. It's kind of a sketchy ride in, takes a little bit of time, is secluded and very narrow 2 way roads.

How are the drinks at the bar priced? Is it open everyday or should we pack a cooler?
Written 15 August 2019
The drinks are reasonable and I do not think you need to pack a cooler. I believe they are open every day but you may want to call. Have fun and enjoy!

Are there lockers to place your valuables while swimming?
Written 22 March 2019
Nope. We had a rental car and we kept what limited valuables we had with us in there. Someone could have grabbed the keys while we were swimming, except that there was no one else there.

Is it safe enough to bring small kids? I don’t see any fences or anything in photos.
Written 18 October 2018
I brought my toddler with us. There's no fences and you do have to keep an eye on the little ones at all times. But my 2 year old had a great time on the mineral pool and he never attempted anything crazy.

How far of a drive is it to the Blue Hole from the cruise port in Ocho Rios?
Written 12 July 2018
The Blue Hole Mineral Springs is outside of Negril which would be about 4 hours from Ocho Rios the cool blue hole outside Ocho Rios should be about 20 minutes from the cruise port
Written 12 July 2018
13 of us from riu negril would like to visit blue hole. Would we just split up in a bunch of taxis? Then call for a taxi to get back to resort? Is there somewhere else recommended to visit on the way there or back? Also is there a dive show scheduled for july 9th?
Written 25 June 2018
For that amount of people I would set that up through your hotel and split the cost. The driver can wait there for you and that is a nice thing. They can play dominos while they wait.
It is a nice outing, beautiful scenery
Written 26 June 2018
I’m not sure how deep the water is but my husband jumped in which is maybe might be 30-35 feet jump and did not touch the bottom and, there is a ledge around the hole itself that you can sit on. It is the mud that is used for the mud massage. Very cool. Not a big huge hole. My husband jumped and I went down the ladder. It goes all the way down into the water.
Hope this helps you out.
It is a nice quiet place. Everyone is very nice and helpful. And also the pool is also mineral water and we spent time in it as well.
It is $5.00 to enter
