I thought St Martin had no private beaches, but experience (a rather bad one) showed me otherwise. The Island is tiny and lovely, and well worth a visit but only if you are comfortable with paying their $25 beach chair and umbrella fee. I had a drink first at the Karibuni Restaurant counter and then went on to sit on... More

This is a beautiful place. There's a nice trail along which there are stunning panoramic vistas. Lots of iguanas. The back side of the island is a coral reef. What you need to know is that it costs $12 per person to get there from St Martin by skiff, and $25 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella. There are... More

Overall a nice experience, glad I did it, but don't need to go back. The beach area is nice, water is very calm, really good for younger kids. The ferry over was $12 per person and once you are there it was another $12 per person if you wanted beach chairs. A bit too crowded for my liking. You can... More

This little island lies off the French part of St Martin. There is a very busy beach covered in sun loungers, with a restaurant on the beach. There are a lot of tame iguanas around which are nice for kids (and adults). The interior of the island is grassy and there's a quieter beach on the other side. It's supposed... More

I'm oh so glad we took the time to go to Pinel Island. It's quaint and charming with lovely calm cool waters. As soon as we got off the ferry, we walked around to the left side of the beach. A local woman told us that we might be able to see the wild horses roaming on the hilltop, and... More

We did a day trip to Pinel Islands between Xmas and New Years and frankly, I regretted going there. There is only a very small beach and it was packed. All the umbrella and lounge chairs were taken. The water was very cloudy and there was alot of seaweed so even the snorkeling was no fun. Getting there is ok.... More

Cute island with calm waters. Karibuni side seems less crowded and more family friendly. Our son loved the huge iguanas and hermit crab hunting. I agree with previous reviews that the water is cloudy not clear----seems like too many boats and the like, unfortunately. But still pretty and a fun day. In the high season, definitely rent your Karibuni chairs... More

We chose a two man kayak and a day of exploring the beaches and trails of Pinel over a day on a sailboat. An affordable excursion which if I was to do it again I would bring a picnic, a back pack and hiking shoes along with our snorkel gear. Unfortunately due to the Christmas winds the visibility and currents... More

We were on an excursion and our guide brought us here. It's a cool little island, in the middle of nowhere, almost unexpected. There are little huts, a gift shop, a restaurant bar, and an iguana habitat.
