We went to Loterie Farm to hike up to Pic Paradis which was a great hike through the rainforest type trees with great views from the tallest peak on the island! After our hike we grabbed lunch and hung by the pool for a few hours - really great relaxing atmosphere (there are tons of mosquitos but you can borrow repellent!). Would highly recommend a day or afternoon here! I think sundays they have a DJ so maybe best to avoid that day if you’re looking for a relaxing day!

This place is paradise on earth and I highly recommend visiting if you are there to do an activity (like hiking, zipline, etc.) or have a bite. I do not recommend visiting if you are looking for a place to relax and (ironically) soak in nature by the pool. I went at around 10 am on a Saturday and my gosh, the pool area was just beautiful. Green beyond measure, lovely water, lovely greenery, butterflies dancing in the air. The effect was completely changed by the LOUD BLARING club music, which is totally unnecessary at 10 in the morning with no chance of desisting as they day went on. Perhaps they thought it would be nice to cultivate "an evening beach party at Maho" atmosphere but the noise really ruined the experience for me. What an eden it would have been to simply listen to the birds and the water and relax and soak in nature - maybe sun like a lizard, maybe read a book, maybe take a nap. But the unce unce unce of technopop drowned out all of nature's stress-relieving pleasures. I will also mention that the seating is expensive. $20 for very basic pool chairs, only two pairs of which are in any sort of shade. Otherwise you have to rent a cabanita for 75 euros (sure they throw in two cocktails, but come on), or even more to rent a cabana. For these reasons, the pool area was mostly devoid of people. If it's not already 100% clear from the photos, make sure you do full on-mosquito repellant. If you forget, they do sell mosquito repellant at the ticket counter.

RUDE staff! Came here 2-3 years ago and had a great time. Bad / lazy staff, which is fairly typical in France and having lived there am used to it. I can handle that but not the 6 Euro bottle of sparkling water (which was completely flat and I suspect was refilled tap water). The location and activities are great but the staff are everything in a service industry and they need to replace the ones we saw.

Response from Pierre L, General Manager at Loterie Farm
Responded 5 weeks ago
Good afternoon Mr. Duncan, I am sorry you did not enjoy your recent visit here at Loterie Farm. I must say that I am surprised at your review for several reasons. In my experience, I have not found that French staff more are rude / bad / lazy than in other countries and I have lived in 6 countries and visited countless more and no, I do not find your review particularly fair. If your sparkling water was flat, you should have let your server know so that you could have received a new one. We most definitely do NOT refill our bottles with tap water and the insinuation is quite outrageous. We are not going to replace our staff based on your recommendation and after reading your previous 39 reviews (read on December 22nd, 2020) on TripAdvisor, you seem to be quite unhappy with most of your destinations and I wish you a better 2021 with more positive experiences and reviews to your future destinations. Loterie Farm is not to be missed. Something for everyone here. Start your hike at this former sugar plantation turned eco park and climb the tallest mountain in St. Martin for a rewarding view at Pic Paradis, zip line through the trees and catch a view of a monkey or lounge at the tropical pool. The hike was challenging, about 2hours and included bumping into a few iguanas along the way. We rewarded ourselves afterwards with an amazing meal at the Loterie Farm restaurant in the tree tops. You must order the chicken curry and/or the poke bowl, both scrumptious. It was fun to see the President of St. Martin also enjoying his Sunday dining experience in the breezy open air "tree house". Staff was lovely.
