Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolute paradise. The jetty is a feature for tourists or fishermen. The water is pristine with pure white sand and an abundance of sea life. A great general store, caravan park and tavern on offer as well.

It was a great experience to have morning tea in the foreshore before walking on the beach. The whole family walk across the rocks looking into the rock pools looking for little creatives. Came across two small red star fish , small crabs and small very small fish. Then we walked the jetty which was great to see people fishing and their catches. Overall it was a great outdoor experience for the whole family.

This jetty is closed currently awaiting much needed repairs. During the 10 days we were in Port Hughes there was no sign, other than moving the closure screens, of any action in repairing this much needed structure. This is a very popular part of Port Hughes, and needs to be fully functional.

Be aware Port Hughes jetty is closed for repair with no programed opening date. jetty damaged in August during storm.
This is a major attraction for the caravan park and all local accommodation and businesses.

They council and state government need to make it clearer and wider known the jetty has been shut down since August 2020. Disappointing to spend a week in Port Hughes on holiday, maybe get a spot of jetty fishing in only to find the jetty closed. There was no explanation and no publicity about this. There is no advice of if or when it will be repaired, there was no visible damage with the power still on the length of the jetty.

On our quest to find Cornish pasties we came across the jetty and took a stroll out on a damp and windy day. Even though the sun wasn’t shining the water was clear and clean. We also had a walk along the beach which was equally as nice. Good parking and had the beach to ourselves but that may have been so to the weather.

Great jetty for fishing or just a stroll. Beautiful views. Tavern and shop next door with plenty of food options.
