Visited this place in September 2016 with family and kids aged 8-10years. Since it was during monsoon season, the place was lush green and very scenic. We started our ascend around 10am and the weather was just perfect with cool breeze blowing. Though it is such a historic place, it has not been maintained well. There is just one place... More

it was a good and quick visit to the fort. approachable by road. takes around 2 hrs to climb up see places and come back. Clean and repaired fort. nice view of surrounding naneghat, malshej. do not try to park towards the end . park downward slope on the road so that easily take out your car.

Since birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj,, it should be a must to visit place of all Maharashtrians.. Quiet high and a good walk. The birth place is kept locked and the scenery from the top view is very nice.

We went there last weekend and probably the best weather to be there! We had clubbed the trip along with Ozar-Lenyadri. We weren't sure if we would be able to make it to the fort, but since we had some spare time we thought of paying a visit. When we reached there, we were so amused by the landscape it... More

Shivaji Maharaj birthplace becomes a pilgrimage for Maharashtrians. The fort top view gives us a 360 view of the valley and surrounding place. The atmostphere is very cool and mesmerizing. The trek from the gate and top takes 1 hour but the lazyness goes away due to the nice climate.

Have seen many forts in Maharashtra, Gujrat, Goa. Hadn't seen any maintained like this. Birthplace of Shivaji. Starts from parking arrangements. The Long stairs to forts are maintained and cleaned. Not a very steep hike, older people can make it easily as well. Steps are mix of stairs and some walkway alternate. At mid way, there is a huge garden,... More
