Today we went shopping in the village, at one point it started to rain very heavily. I am retired, I had a little Yorkie with me, weighing less than 5 kg, she is now also 14 years old and elderly like me. At a certain point it started to rain very hard, we ran to various eateries to take shelter and eat something tasty, but we were not allowed in anywhere. Shame on you restorers.

I was shopping with my wife and suddenly we were approached outside by a Securitas security guard and in an urgent tone we had to come along!

To my question why? I received a vague answer and we were suddenly surrounded by 3 security guards, which made us not feel safe.

Once we arrived at their office, we were approached very antisocially and told to sit down!

After 10 minutes we were able to leave again, but I can't express how that happened other than that we felt like cattle.

Our pleasure of shipping to Maasmechelen from Rotterdam was severely robbed!!

Securitas and the person on behalf of the village Mr. Glen Cortens thank you!!!

Physically, the place is very nice and well kept, but the selection inside the stores is very underwhelming especially for Men. Long ques to enter the shops, employees not the friendliest in some stores. Restaurants and cafes are full with long ques. Prices also are not that cheap even with the sales season, online are way better deals. Glad I visited it to tick it off my list but nothing that impressed me.

Spacious, free parking. 1600 places.
More than 100 brands represented.
Squeaky clean maintained.
Open on Sundays and public holidays.
There is regularly room for an event, for example at the moment 'Love imperfection' by Princess Delphine of Belgium.
Also some bistros and other eateries.

Nice shopping environment with many neat shops. Clean sanitary facilities! Cozy catering industry. Downside: they advertise charging points in their parking lot, but these are nothing more than an ordinary socket. After a whole day in the village, only 50 km of charge. A shame, these cannot be called charging stations.

The Village is super nice and it has many great brands like Scotch&Soda, Versace, Armani, Sandro... (btw I love my new shorts!) I have spent the day there and will definitely come back! Try the mussels in the restaurant Le Petit Belge, delicious!!

I was hugely disappointed by Maasmechelen Village. It essentially consists of one street, a short one, with shops on the left and on the right side. Go to their website before visiting, and you will see that the really good clothing brands are not there. Since I was there, I still did the work of going through the collections of the few shops and there was not a single piece I could buy. Standard sizes are systematically sold out. There was nothing I could take home except cutlery in the kitchen supplies shop, and I typically shop a lot!
Even the Belgian Wijnegem Shoppingcenter, an ordinary indoor mall, is better than Maasmechelen.
My recommendation is to skip Maasmechelen and to go to Aachen in Germany instead, which is right across the border, for better prices and a larger choice. If you prefer the Netherlands, go to Maastricht, which is a lovely shopping city with a large pedestrian zone.

A great place to do some discount shopping. They have a wide variety of stores allowing you to buy anything from clothes to vases. They will be able to help you in at least Dutch, English and French, and probably also German.
They also have several restaurants, but these are overpriced. Your best option for food is to go into the movie theater next to it (good food for not too expensive), or to go into the town itself.

If you love shopping and like doing it in style, Mass Mechelen Village is a great one! It is within Chic Outlets network and I have shopped in London, Paris, Milan and now in Belgium.
They do a wonderful job. People there are very friendly and helpful and importantly knowledgable.
I totally loved their coach! Not only you get fashion magazine to entertain yourself if you are bored looking out a window at a beautiful landscapte you get CHAMPAGNE too!
Well done guys! Keep up, open more shops, get more deals!

We had heard of this outlet village from some other people who work in Brussels and decided to try it out - all I can say is wear flat shoes and take your credit cards!
We only managed one of the sites in a day, but there are other bits to the village. Its set out beautifully with each of the shops in a pretty village street like location. There are a number of restaurants and bars to choose from and toilets/baby changing facilities.
But its the quality of the shops that we found so good - a Massive Hugo Boss outlet store with hundreds of gorgeous suits for hubby all at less than 400E! Large ladies section with scrummy shoes and boots at big discounts.
Calvin Klein, Hilfiger, Versace ( Yum!) Bognor etc....
And lots of housey type shops with Villeroy and Boch, lovely linens...
Oh - and baby clothes shops ( not my thing!)

Its junction 33 off the motorway - see the website for more details - but it is a long way off the motorway and we thought we'd gone wrong, but just follow the flags by the side of the road!

Happy Shopping!
