Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a must see place in the region. It is free and open to the public. In addition to the church, there is hotel with bar and restaurant.

The old orthodox stone church on top of the mountain dominates the surrounding valleys spreading "God's will down to the believers. The views two the Mtskheta old town, the Mtkvari river and in the valley are beautiful.

The oldest city in Georgia is the cradle of Christianity.
The place where the two rivers meet .
A tour of the Old City will lead to an ancient church sveti tshoveli. The translation of the word is "the pillar of life" according to the legend.
The church, which was built in various buildings from the fourth century to the present building that was built in the 11th century.
The town is very colorful and beautiful and full of local candy stands and souvenirs.
It is highly recommended.

Great view over the old capital Mtskheta, very beautiful Church, still a holy place and center of Georgian Christianity. It is very easy to visit on a day tour from Tbilisi, cheap way to see several sights scattered around.

We had a very enjoyable afternoon visiting this lovely little town that was formerly the capital of Georgia. The church is beautiful and is wonderful to visit with a knowledgeable guide. Don't miss it!

I wondered if I could be bothered to climb up the hill for yet another church but I am so pleased I did.
The view from the top of the hill is spectacular but the church is very special. Maybe because of its age the site goes back to the fourth century it seems to be incredibly atmospheric. I felt that it felt very special and peaceful. An absolute must.

Our first day in Tbilisi was a visit to the Mtskheta Church of Holy Cross. Magnificent church on top of the hill overlooking the old city of Tbilisi.
Amazing and beautiful century old Church that is a must to visit. Few stalls selling souvenirs and Churchkhela.
