This 12th century castle was extensively rebuilt lately and thanks to the new owners, it is now an impressive site. We tried the tower cake from the bakery. Delicious and the donkey seems to like it also ver much. After a bite he followed me...More

It is a steep walk up to the castle - no option for wheelchairs users that I am aware. Once you get there, there is quite a lot going on so best to check their calendar. Pony rides, falconry display, petting zoo and more for...More

Great experience! Visit this little town (Sumeg) and the Castle if you are around the Balaton area, it is worth it! Is it only ~ 20 km from Balaton.

We truly enjoyed our time at Sumeg Castle. Inside in the small cafe we had chimney bread and it was some of the best in all of Hungary. Make sure to try it as I will not disappoint!

Nice castle with a number of shows. I particularly enjoyed the falcon show where the falconier explained how the falcons were trained. There is a nice Csarda outdoor restaurant with traditional Hungarian food) close by.

Very good organization of the tour with a lot of restaured parts of the castle and with numerous activities for children. I definetely recommend for a day trip coupled with the restaurant and other activitiea that are placed at the bottom of the castle hill.

Worth to visit if you are in this area. Be prepared to climb a little bit before reaching the castle. Good activity if you kids.
