We made this trip last weekend, and I am not sure about the need for 4x4. There are well defined gravel roads that take you right to the site without the need for serious navigation. Having navigated from the old road next to the current Highway and exiting through Zekreet, I would recommend the Zekreet route. Just pass through the... More

There are some places that you must visit before you die. Film city is definitely not one of them. It sounds adventurous and artistic but is just a fort in the desert with nothing to see. Additionally, nothing reminds of a film set.

In the middle of seemingly nowhere the film city suddenly appears. Opening scene of "Transformers" movie was here.

The place good for pictures. It is ok to see. But there is only this place + area around on the desert with interesting natural sculptures that look like big mushrooms :)

The film city can be reach using the east or the west route. The east route can be start from the Zekreet village and old ruins of the Zekreet fort and follow the coast. You need a GPS and a 4x4 car , you will pass thought some nice desert landscape and so call " Mystery Village". The Film City... More

A must see if you are in qatar. This was made for an old Arabic film and it is fantastic to see, the shape of rocks alone in the desert is awesome, and the rest looks like something from Star Wars.

We went here with a friend because we didn't have anything better to do over the weekend. It's okay to take a few snaps, but that's it. It's really not worth the effort and not something I would recommend others to do. If you do go, do not bother unless you have a 4X4.

It's almost located in the middle of nowhere. It's a nice thing to see, a different experience, but definitely not a must-do trip. You can take a bunch of unique pictures, but that's it. No big deal.
