About
Anggrek Putih offers half day cooking classes & garden tour every day from Monday to Saturday. Classes consist of a minimum of 2 people to a maximum of 7 people. Experience the different flavour of "Indonesian cuisine" and learn about the local products. From spicy local "Lombok food" with hot chilies and herbs to the sweetness of Javanese food made with fresh coconut milk, palm sugar and peanuts. The courses are conducted in a personal relaxed atmosphere in English or German by the Indonesian owner. Our cooking classes commence daily at 11:30 am and are a fun educational and enjoyable way to learn about the Indonesian food and culture for the whole family. Bookings are essential. Hotel pick-up is included in the area of Senggigi ,batu layar,mataram,kerandangan, Mangsit.

    We found the cooking class from our resort Quincy villas Amazing organic garden all ingredients fresh from the garden to our workstation, our instructor Dewi , she answered all our questions, very calm , polite. Total in our group was two another couple total six , we cook 10 dishes from scratch, no canned food here all fresh. All in our group we been amazed with the massive garden you must witness!!!     The best cooking class!
    Highlight of our trip in Lombok! We had such a special experience while doing the cooking class! The day started with an on time pick up from Qunci Villas by Chris who brought us to his place! In front of the cooking class there is a very nice garden with a lot of vegetables, herbs and fruits! Before preparing the food, we visited the garden to see and smell the vegetables and fruits! we prepared 10 dishes, both salty and sweet! There were all tasty and delicious! The instructor was very patient, helpful and she was explaining the recipes clearly. We enjoyed a lot the time that we spent here and we learnt much about Lombok culture! For me all cooking classes should be like that! Thank you Chris for this beautiful day!

    'Fill your boots!'
    This fun cooking class was one of the highlights of our stay in Lombok. Chris, Dewi - plus the lady who also guided us in preparing the food, the driver who picked us up, the chap in the background / kitchen, made everything run so smoothly. Great team work! It was a beautiful sensory experience. We got to see, touch, taste, smell the healthy, fresh ingredients from the garden tour allowing for a 'hands-on' experience from the very start. We also enjoyed the lovely company of others. Chatting, cooking and eating together was a great way to spend the afternoon. Everyone contributed to the very relaxed environment, we didn't feel rushed and we all learnt something new- to include how the food is expertly presented. We highly recommend this wonderful culinary experience. You won’t be disappointed!

The best thing to do in Lombok

Tegnap részt vettem a főzőtanfolyamon, az egyik legkellemesebb délután volt, amit eddig eltöltöttem Indonéziában.
A főzősulikban az a jó, hogy emberekkel ismerkedhetsz, több nemzettel ülsz egy asztalnál, illetve közösen főzitek a vacsorát. Chris, a tulajdonos az egyik legzseniálisabb idegenvezető/turizmusban dolgozó ember, akivel valaha találkoztam. Rugalmas volt, segített leszervezni az oda- és továbbjutásomat, az ára mindennek annyi volt, amit megbeszéltünk. Időben ott volt értem, és tettünk még 1 kis kerülőt, hogy több élményt gyűjtsünk. Az első perctől kezdve tudja mindenki nevét és készségesen bemutat a többieknek is pár szóban. A háza, kertje, ahol a tanfolyam van, gyönyörű, tiszta!
Chris pedig egy igazi mókamester, nagyon jó hangulatot teremtett. A felesége és segítői pedig végig segítettek nekünk a főzésben, a végén pedig kaptunk meglepetés desszertet. Este problémám adódott a szállásommal, Chris este 11-ig levelezett velem, hogy segíteni tudjon.
Ezen felül sznorkel túrakat is szerveznek, érdemes rákérdezni.
Ha Lombokon jársz, ne hagyd ki! :)

I went on the cooking class, and it was one of the best experiences in Indonesia so far.
Chris, the owner is really helpful, he organized my trip there and towards. He knows everyones name from the first moment and he can make connections with everyone. He made a lot of jokes and fun and made it easy for us to get relaxed.
Cooking was fun, his wife and staff was around to help us when needed. Dining with many more nationalities is a great experience. His garden and house is unique, clean and beatiful! At night, I had an issue with my accomodation and he was awake with me until late night, tried to help me at his best.
He also has snorkeling and other tours, if you are around Lombok, make an appointment with him! :)

Such an amazing and unique experience! It was so lovely to experience so many different dishes and be taught by Dewi. Chris was a legend and his tour of their vegetable garden was a great touch. Thank you so much guys, we’ll be back!

Highlight of our trip!

Amazing experience - like cooking with a family. My partner and I had the class to ourselves and cooked all afternoon. Many of the ingredients were from the garden, and the food was soooo good. Such an authentic, kind team - we loved it. Plus we were given copies of the recipes to take home - they look quite simple to follow again. Please consider doing this class - it was a highlight of an amazing trip to Lombok.

This cooking course was a highlight on our trip to Lombok. Dewi and her crew were excellent teachers and hosts. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed learning about all the fruits and vegetables they grow. The food we cooked was amazing and they packed the leftovers up beautifully for us to take back to our hotel. Thank you so much for a wonderful day.

A fantastic cooking class, a must-go if in the Sengiggi area. You will have missed out if you don't experience this wonderful cooking class. You get an informative tour of the garden, with food tasting, as well as an unforgettable cooking experience, with everyone cooking a different dish and all dietary requirements catered for, it can't be faulted. The main man Chris (formally DJ Chris) a wacky, yet wonderful host of the experience!
You will leave feeling as if you've stolen something, for the price that it is!!

Cooking in a little Oasis!
What an amazing experience it was meeting Chris, having a garden tour, and cooking some amazing dishes. The experience from pick up to drop off was fun and unique. Even if you’re alone as I was you’re sure to meet interesting people and have a good time. Unlike other cooking classes I’ve taken, there was no food wasted and we got to take the leftovers home. Thanks for an amazing day!

Well ,I can't tell you enough about the most amazing experience I had with Chris& Dewi at the cooking class in senggigi called Anggrek Puti translated it means (White Orchard), we started off by walking round the herb & veggie garden about 20 to 30 min learnt all about the ingredients you will be cooking with also tasting some.
Amazing, let me add this Dewi & chris grow everything on site not like some others that claim to be No 1 they go out and buy most of the produce from the market's.
The cooking class was absolutely the highlight of coming to lombok the ambience and food simply 10 out of 10

A place for making great food and even more fabulous memories!!
A fantastic cooking class experience!

Dewi, Chris and the team guided and assisted us in making a truly memorable dinner. From the start, Chris takes you on a tour of his garden, showing us all the various vegetables and fruits on offer while doing a bit of sampling along the way, getting you ready for the main show.
It was very insightful and gave us a better understanding of what was going into the food we would be making.

Then we put our aprons on, and we were off to work; it was a lot of fun interacting with the group, working together, getting to know each other and sharing great stories and memories from all over the world.

Once the hard work was completed, we moved on to the dinner itself, and OMG, it was out of this world! The explosion of flavours was immense, there was such an array of colours on the table, and the smells were to die for.

This experience was more than just cooking; it was a chance to switch off, forget about travelling and enjoy good food and company!!

10/10 for me and my family x
