I've been looking at Tall Lake and Taal Volcano from postcards and finally got the opportunity to finally land my feet... We booked a tour with the Yatch Club - a horseback ride tour that will bring us into the crater of Taal Volcano. We arrived at the dock of Taal Lake by 2:30pm. Rode a small pumpboat to cross... For a non-hiker like me, going up to the see the actual crater of this volcano by foot is a real challenge. But I would rather do that than put my weight on the poor ponies (most of them are small and looked poorly nourished!) that they would endlessly offer. There is a trail with stations of the cross (perfect... More

It was nice to get out of Manila for a drive to the country side. Taal Volcano is inside a lake, which required a boat ride to get the closer view. It was possible to get a horse ride up to the top, which we skipped.

I heard about all the tours but I decided to finally visit it when I came back with friends from Guam. I figured the more the merrier and a great first experience for all of us. We do have kids... So Inlove with this place. 💕 One of the best place to visit here in Philippines! But some vendor when we're on our way up to the crater, they're asking for payment for drinks to give to our tour guides but they're not giving it to them. Tricking people, so bad 😔 but all in all we enjoyed the ride-up!... More

This is a wonderful site and to see the entire scoop must go to peoples park to get the height to really look at the volcano in the lake.

It is a 4 km walk but extremely steep and the constant line of horses with tourists on them make it even more. Difficult....try and make the walk up early morning and my advice just take the horse
