We were unaware that there was a zoo before our holiday to the Hunter Valley...but we were so glad we discovered it. We were impressed that they house lions, alligators, giraffes and camels in a fairly small zoo. We also liked the interaction you can have with the animals like the petting zoo and aviary. Would also recommend the cafe for lunch too..

Great day for all ages. We have been here previously and enjoy it every visit. The Grandkids are happy and love how close you can get to the animals and you are able to feed some. This time we were up close to see the lions being fed - amazing experience! We saw a group of ladies enjoying their close encounter with the Meerkats - such a great experience, this has been added to our bucket list! All staff are so friendly and helpful. There are picnic tables scattered around the grounds to enjoy your BYO food or buy from the park. We highly recommend this park for a great family day out.

I visited with my family this week with my grandson who is 2 and half. We all really loved our visit here. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The zoo looked clean and well cared for . The keepers were happy to spend time answering any questions about the animals. It was great to be able to get so close to them and even better to be able to feed some of them. We all enjoyed feeding and stroking the camels and kangaroos. We all agreed it’s the best wildlife park we have ever visited. I would and already have , highly recommend a visit here.

Oh my gosh. What a beautiful place. Zoo is my kind of thing. I have been to most of the major Zoos in Australia and New Zealand. I have never seen a place like this. Small, but beautifully presented, animals just look so happy and relaxed. It's the vibe and the experience. What a wonderful place!!!

I had no idea that there was a Zoo in the Hunter until a friend heard I was taking some time away and suggested it might be a good activity for the little one. They were right!

My partner and I went with our two year old on a Saturday morning. It was busy but not too packed, so the atmosphere was excellent, and we had a great time.

It was fantastic to have the option to buy some feed on entry to enhance the experience. We loved the walk-in bird enclosure with the lorikeets and appreciated the opportunity to feed the camels / sprinkle seeds for roaming animals like the baby water-fowl etc roaming the park. The whole experience felt really interactive.

It was also awesome to see that the animals had wide-open enclosures which felt in most cases quite true to their natural habitat - the alligators being a prime example of this. Generally, all of the animals appeared healthy and well looked after - huge credit to the staff who obviously take a lot of pride in their work.

If there was one criticism I'd make, I'd have to say that I'd liked to have seen more options for food / rest stops throughout the ground and maybe some more shaded areas for little ones to stop and rest. This is really splitting hairs though, as we had a great day regardless.

Overall - I'd definitely put this high up on my list of things to do in the Hunter next time I'm back!

Our visit was a recommendation. Not sure what to expect, but very pleasantly surprised by the range of primates and monkeys here. They looked well cared for, staff very helpful and informative. Could have watched the monkeys all day, very active.
