So its Australia Day 2024, my brother is over for his Birthday and it happens to be his 50th, my Birthday was the day before but as I was born in the UK (in the evening which would've been Australia Day in Oz) its still my birthday.. It was a 40 degree day and we went to see Ross as our last stop and a winery we haven't visited, ever.. What a lovely surprise, Ross is a genuine character, we had lots of fun and most importantly we see why James Halliday highly rates their wines. The Hunter has become very commercial over the years and hugely expensive, spending time with lesser known wineries is a must so I highly encourage you to visit this little gem ASAP.

A lovely variety of easy drinking Whites. Semillon, Chardonnay and GewurzTraminer. They grow Shiraz grapes and make a medium body Shiraz wines in lower volumes. On some years they actually make a lovely small run Cabernet

Ann was excellent, I have never learnt so much at a wine tasting than at Ernest Hill. Went with a group of 13 friends and Ann was very patient answering all of our questions! I liked how it wasn’t like some other wine tastings you go to where they give you one fact about the wine & then leave you just to drink it. Would definitely recommend if you actually want to learn about what you’re tasting :)

This was our first Winery stop on this weekend trip. I am so glad we stopped here. Lesley was so informative and helpful to us with tasting techniques. The wines were delightful, we purchased a few. Definately make a stop on your next wine trip.

The wine tasting was a great experience and the wine selection was varied but all to our liking. Enjoyed the sweet wines most. Anne walked us through all of it, throwing in he humour and hints of personality of the team behind the winery. Kudos to the team!
