Our business had our Christmas party one year (well before 2017) with The Art of Chocolate. We learned so much about chocolate and had lots of fun together. I would definitely recommend doing this with a group of friends or as a team building, fun experience. Be aware that you DO have to eat or share your produce ... maybe go on a diet for a while beforehand?

I had the pleasure of doing the Easter chocolate class yesterday in Mareeba. It was a wonderful day from start to finish. Maria is a fabulous teacher and very encouraging. No prior experience needed to feel successful and you get to eat the finished product in the comfort of your own home with your loved ones. Highly recommend this course for anyone who loves chocolate. Makes a great gift for that someone you don't know what to get.

I had the pleasure of attending the Chocolate Lovers class on Saturday in Cairns. I had always thought tempering and making soft centres etc to be something only the experts can do, yet something I wanted to learn. Maria is a natural teacher who made me feel so at ease and confident that I could create countless masterpieces! Her style is relaxed and encouraging. I came home with an array of chocolates that looked just like professionally made ones, and tasted even better because I knew I had made them! The decorating was incredibly fun, but for me, knowing I have the basic skills and now confidence to try soft centres and tempering blew me away. I can't wait til the Truffles class. I'm hooked. Thank you Maria! I can't wait to send you some images of my home trials.

Following on from a work related stay in Cairns, I indulged myself by attending one of Maria's Chocolate Lovers classes. I love chocolate so knew that I would at least enjoy eating my finished product! But these classes are so much more. Firstly the professionalism and expertise of Austrian Maria, a master at her trade, the fun you all have bonding over your shared love of chocolate and the incredible value! It's not even $30 an hour! and this includes all your ingredients and take home treats. Being from Sydney, a class of this calibre, with small numbers, individual attention, first class tuition and top quality product would cost more than double.
Treat yourself, or a friend, go with your lover, bond with your daughter..it's a really fabulous way to spend a day. And what you make will blow you away. I do not have any cooking skills or artistic talent, yet my creations were delicious and professional looking masterpieces!

Maria is a true professional and a pleasure to talk to.
Her love for the art of making chocolate is always paramount and hearing about her background gives more context to her skill and passion.
Becoming an artisan in Switzerland and the accomplishments of travel her natural talent has helped her achieve is truly inspiring.
A wonderful afternoon, especially the conversation.

Thanks Maria.

Highly Recommended!!
The Art of Chocolate offers creative chocolate classes in Cairns and on the Atherton Tableland. You can choose from four different classes; The Chocolate Lovers Class, Connoisseurs Class, Chocolate Truffle Class and the Chocolate Sculpture Master Class.

The classes are presented by Maria Graf, who is a Master Pastry Chef and ChocoIatier.
Maria has worked all over the world and her love of all things chocolate inspired her to start her own chocolate school in 2013 in Far NOrth Queensland. The classes are small with a maximum of 6 people, which means you receive a lot of expert one-on-one attention from Maria.

I participated in the Chocolate Truffle Class and it was fantastic!
The class started at 9.30am and finished at 3pm with a break for lunch. I didn't have to bring anything, everything was supplied. I learnt a great deal and made lots and lots of moulded and rolled truffles. I flavoured my ganache fillings with a variety of ingredients including hazelnut, peppermint, Cointreau, rum and coffee liqueur. The rum truffles were my personal favourites.

All the truffles I made were all absolutely delicious … real luxury chocolate.
The added bonus is that each person takes home a large amount of chocolate at the end of the day.
Maria is an excellent teacher and everything was very well organised. The class was very good value, very creative and so much fun. I would love to try another one of the classes. Information about the classes is on The Art of Chocolate's website: www.theartofchocolate.com.au.
