Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I don't understand the enthusiastic reviews, to the point of calling them a "must".
The visit is very short, there are three environments and in the first two if you are at the back you cannot hear the guide while he speaks, either because of the children who are afraid or the usual phenomena (adults) who talk about their business.
In my opinion the guide should stop not at the top of the queue but in the middle, taking a few steps back, to allow everyone to listen.
In the last room you can take advantage of the greater space to get close to the guide and listen.
I do not recommend the visit for those with small children, if you really want to go know that it is nothing special, I have visited many caves and this one is quite normal. At least try to stay close to the guide to hear what he has to say. Disappointment.

If you are in the area, you should definitely visit the grotto. A visit is only possible with a guide and an entrance fee, and it can be very narrow and low inside, so you have to bend down.
But it is really very interesting and a nice change from the beach and the sea.
Not suitable for people with limited mobility, as you first have to climb down a few steps and then a few more steps to get into the grotto.
The grotto is sometimes narrow, damp/wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes if possible. Flip flops are not suitable.

Beautiful cave overlooking the sea which is accessed from the ground. There is the possibility to buy a cumulative ticket (Cave + Castle of Castro) for only 2€ more, which we recommend. The visit inside the cave takes place with guided tour. Better use non-slip shoes.

Groups too large for such a small cave. The guide explained to the visitors nearby and those of us who were in the middle (not even in the queue) only had to imagine what he was explaining.
Inside (and this is my non-expert opinion) it looked like some stalagmite had been taken from somewhere else and placed there to create history. In particular, it seemed strange to me that there wasn't even a hint of a stalactite corresponding to the stalagmite.... meh!

Nothing to do with the Neptune caves in Sardinia, let's be clear, but I appreciate the valorisation of the territory by the Puglia Region: until a few years ago it was a bit abandoned to itself, with little lighting and little competence on the part of the guides .
Zinzulusa Cave is the only cave that can be visited from the Castro Marina coast road. The others, namely the diver's cave and the Blue cave, can be visited by hiring a tour from the port of Castro, unfortunately it is no longer like a couple of years ago that with one ticket you could visit all three together.
The guide is included in the ticket, young and knowledgeable, I appreciated the passion he put into explaining the history and curiosities of the cave in question. The visit lasts about three quarters of an hour.

The rags in local dialect "zinzuli"... and here's the name.
Zinzulusa Cave, because the stalactites resemble many hanging rags.
Thinking of entering a cave that has existed for about 3 million years... gives you shivers and realizing that time is relative.
Even if the discovery and subsequent public viewing took place only a few decades ago and only the first 150 meters of the cave are visible, the remaining part, partly flooded, is not accessible due to the considerable importance of its biodiversity hce archaeologists and biologists they try to preserve.
The cave is divided into three parts:
I° "La Conca" which is characterized by stalactites and stalagmites
II° "The Duomo" with the presence of fewer limestone formations... the vault is about 25 meters high, the walls are smooth and after having cleaned the bottom from the guano of the bats (7 meters high), it was possible to admire its majesty
III° "Il Cocito" very clear waters flow through it in which there are stratifications of fresh water at the top and brackish water at the bottom.
Inside this cave, closed to the public, there are unique forms of biodiversity like a unique "sponge" in the world.
The importance has increased by the discovery of archaeological finds of human settlements.

I don't understand the complaints about prices! For five years, from Veneto, I have been taking holidays in Salento and never miss a day at least in the wonderful swimming pool overlooking the cave. I don't know what prices those who criticize prices are used to, but in Veneto in a simple municipal swimming pool, entry, umbrella and three sunbeds, they cost from 35 to 40 euros! 23 here! And the scenario is certainly not comparable

If there is still someone who complains about the prices of the swimming pool: in August, umbrella and 3 sunbeds €28. Today at the municipal swimming pools of Rosà, umbrella and 3 sunbeds €41! If the landscape is comparable to you, that would be enough! Long live the wonderful Salento! Salentini: take care of your treasures. I've been coming on holiday there for 5 years!

One of the largest caves in the world with guided tour.
The ticket must be purchased at the car park and costs €6 for adults (cave ticket only but there are several options with multiple visits).
Absolutely to add to the list of activities to do (the visit lasts +/- 25min).

A very beautiful cave from the beginning of the route to reach the entrance, which runs along an inlet overlooking a beautiful sea.
Even before entering you can admire a remarkable glance.
Before entering you have to wait the necessary time before the group before you comes out, but in this time you can talk to the guides who will tell you about the cave without any problem.
Once inside, the very knowledgeable guide will begin to talk to you and explain everything you need to know, also making sure that everyone can hear for about 30 minutes and at the end he is willing to answer questions.
In conclusion, the trip was excellent and at a good price (€6 adults and €3 children).
