Very happy with our whale watching cruise with Whalesong. Small numbers meant plenty of room to move around the boat. We saw quite a few humpback whales but one trio showed off the full range of whale behaviours in the time we floated nearby. A healthy afternoon tea and an early dinner were provided. Crew were helpful and friendly. The captain/guide was very knowledgeable and informed us well about the whales and their behaviours. Highly recommend this tour.

We like to think we offer whales 'plus' ('plus' all the little extras that make the difference between a great trip and an exceptional trip!). The entire team do a great job to ensure you have an educational, yet joyful trip, with little to worry about...the way travel should be!

We did this trip on an overcast day. The whales were a little scarce, however the skipper did an amazing job to try and get views of them.
Even though it was a calm day Robbie was seasick. The crew were very helpful.

Thanks for taking the time to review us. It's certainly different from day to day (cruise to cruise, morning to afternoon, as well). Shame about the whales being scarce but we're glad you enjoyed your trip. I'm glad the crew helped Robbie with the seasickness. They do a great job looking after everyone!

Given COVID conditions the boat was only half capacity, personally on a day where half the passengers had left their sea legs at home it was nice to have all the extra space. The crew were very attentive bringing drinks and food through the day. The captain gave everyone fair warning before we left that the conditions were a half to one metre swell and this might affect the level of whale activity seen or if you thought this might be rough you could leave now and transfer your ticket to a another day. Sitting outside in the fresh air we got plenty wet but had grins on our faces like Cheshire cats it was fun and only moved when a few big waves soaked us, but fortunately we had dressed appropriately in waterproof tops keeping camera and most of self dry. And yes we did find some whales, at which time the sea was a bit calmer however the current did not let us drift as might be expected on a millpond day. Fantastic to see three humpbacks playing in the waters with Fraser Island as a backdrop. Really enjoyable day and would consider coming again when the weather forecast is not forSouth Westerlies. Thanks to all the crew for looking after everyone and still finding smiles at all times.

We're so glad to see you enjoyed your cruise with us, despite the rough weather. Although, it sounds like this enhanced the cruise for you though, ha ha!
We try to inform everyone as best as possible (or as much as they choose to listen) to the conditions and, although it affects the bottom line of the business, give everyone the option to get off and re-schedule or receive a refund if they want to. Better to only have those on board who really want to be on board. Whilst conditions in Hervey Bay are generally stunning, there are times of rough (and more so this year with the Westerly winds!). We're currently experiencing our typical SE and E winds, so it's great again. Happy to have you back on board!

Although this was a Whale Search (rather than Whale Watch) we can highly recommend this out of season trip.
We ended up seeing whales and dolphins, had an awesome day out, was well fed and well cared for. Our knowledgeable and professional crew were great. Thanks Whalesong.

Yes! Our Whale Search & Dolphin Watch cruises can be just as amazing as the Whale Watching cruises - this pre-season opened up with some fantastic watching of whales, dolphins, turtles and even some dingoes on Fraser Island :) We love hearing about the awesome experience that we provide and we have loved hearing from you - so thank YOU!

What an amazing day! Whale song found the best array of juvenile and adult whales (must have been over 30 whales) providing interesting and informative commentary throughout the day. The attention to passengers was first class and Dyane and the crew did a fantastic job with tea, coffee, morning fruit and snacks and a sumptuous and fresh lunch. Thank you all

Everything was perfect! Captain Rick pretty much made the trip. His enthusiasm was catching and it was so wonderful to see how much he loved his job. The crew were awesome - they attended to our every need with omplete professionalism and the food was great. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a top class whale watching experience.

A great whale watching cruise with a locally owned company. Boat size just right with no crowding and plenty of room to observe the whales. Informative commentary with good service by staff. Morning tea and a lunch of roast chicken, ham and salads included which others do not provide. Captain perservered until he found 3 different pods of whales with several right alongside the boat.

Sometimes it takes a bit of patience and perseverance with the whales. It almost always pays off though. As we're in their territory, we're merely observing what they're doing. We're never pushing them to 'perform' for our guests. We're so fortunate, in Hervey Bay, to have incredible encounters. Thanks for your understanding in the need to persevere with the whales. It's a balance alright!

I went out on 8am trip which had a free pick up drop off service from my hotel which made it so easy to get there.
Boat was clean and nice size with a great friendly crew and very knowledgeable captain and crew.
Saw a lot of whales that put on a great show
My first time ticking off bucket list and was. Ot disappointed.
Highly recommend Whalesong.

WhaleSong Whale Sunset Cruise was magnificent. We saw several whales cavorting with their calves. The crew were fun and informative and the buffet dinner was good.
I bought the tickets at their Marina shopfront and found the salesperson very helpful.

Our whale song cruise experience to Fraser Island was AMAZING.
From dealing with Bec when we first made our booking to the amazing staff on the boat..
We have 3 children aged 6,11 and 14 and the whale song cruises catered to their every need including a tube ride and beach activities.
We were provided morning tea of cake and fruit which was very enjoyable and lunch on the way back to Hervey Bay.. which included steak, sausages, prawns, salads and bread.
The staff were all super friendly and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble.
We will definitely be back to visit again and will be booking with Whalesong cruises.

Hi, We are looking to book an afternoon Whale Watch with you, unfortunately we cannot see any afternoon slots. We are looking at either Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th August or Monday 29th August.
Do you have any availability?
We are stopping in Noosa Heads, therefore the journey will be approx 2 hours, hence the morning slot is too early for us.

Hi Joanne, we have afternoon cruises available daily from the 24th of July through to late October. 2pm departure with a 6pm return. August is a great time to see the whales. Sorry. No pick up or cruises offered by us from Noosa. It is an approx. a 2.5 hour easy drive, but can be quicker depending on traffic. Apologies as I did reply to this question some time ago. Unsure why it did not post. The Seafood@Sunset Cruise is a Finger Food menu where crew walk around & serve a substantial amount of freshly prepared Hervey Bay Seafood & non Seafood items to guests where ever they may be on board the boat. Service starts soon after the boat departs the marina. You can definitely book in advance, but we are sometimes pre booked for Private Functions or affected by weather conditions.
