Had a great day out on the Whale Watching and then lunch at Kingfisher Resort. As it was very late in the season we only saw a mother and calf feeding so no action. The return trip to Kingfisher Bay was beautiful travelling along the coast of the island. Great value with crousaunts for breakfast then muffins for morning tea along with tea or coffee. Lunch at Kingfisher is anything on the menu and a wine beer or soft drink. After lunch some of our group went for a swim in the main pools while some of us returned on the early barge. We were then taken back to the Marina by bus from River Heads. We got Mates Rates as we are locals which made it great value. Wonderful staff and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. Just one disappointment was the lack of disabled access at The Sandbar restaurant , this made it very difficult and exhausting for one of our group.

Had an amazing day with the morning whale watching then the afternoon at Kingfisher. We saw 2 pods and even though they didn't do much it was still a great day. It is the end of the season so can't expect a lot. The crew were awesome and they did everything to make sure we saw whales and make our trip memorable.

I would like to share my whale watching experience this season on board the quick cat 11. My Husband are weekly patrons during the whale watching season commencing in July ending in October and I have just completed my sixth since moving to Hervey Bay . The quick cat is purpose built for whale watching with plenty of room to move around the vessel, there are different levels so you go as high or as low as you wish the crew's knowledge of whale behaviour is extensive and a very good educational experience for everyone, especially if your first time at whale watching. The crew are the best. Every day is different in Platypus Bay some days the whales are very active, other days can be quietier. You need to remember this is nature at it's best not seaworld. I have never been disappointed on any of our trips ,the skipper's on board endeavour to show as many pods as possible with the whales displaying their various behaviours. Over the last six years we have witnessed some amazing interactions and behaviours from these amazing creatures I guess that is why I am hooked. Have loaded some photos ,the videos i cannot upload have put on quick cat face book page

We had a wonderful trip, had to go out further than normal but that resulted in quite a few pods of whales and some awesome sights. The trip was smooth and weather was perfect, we couldn't fault the trip at all. The crew were all friendly and informative and the addition of a croissant and juice for breakfast was fantastic.

We had a really great day (family of 4). The staff were all professional and helpful. We did the morning half day trip with lunch at the Kingfisher Bay Resort add on. The experience was different to Whale Watching on the Gold Coast, as the whales were more laid back at HB. There were lots of mothers with calves, young whales testing out their fins and just lounging about whiles others were trying to chase females. Skipper a staff worked real hard to give everyone a memorable experience, given they don't control the whales.
