Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is supposed to be a Tourist Attraction so why is it that half the shops are vacant and catering places also mostly vacant with no sign saying opening soon. I feel sorry for the few remaining businesses struggling when even now in October the place should be booming. Ocean Reef Marina will be built within a few years so I wonder if any businesses will still be here

This used to be a premier attraction with many quality restaurants, lots of family entertainment, including a small 'waterpark' with children's activities.
Sadly this is no longer the case. It is sad and tired and especially quieter than it used to be. The area is in urgent need of an upgrade and facilities are below standard.
We still visit but our time and money that we spend here has largely diminished. I feel sorry for businesses that are still here as it must be very noticable. It's a real shame because it really has potential to be great again.
The grassed areas don't seem to be nearly as busy with families but this may be due to the decline on cleanliness of the general vicinity.
My visits now are only brief, mainly for a coffee and a 10 minute chat with accompanying friends before leaving the precinct. In my opinion this area is still on the downhill decline. It's ok but average at best.

We ate at the outdoor tables opposite where they have about half a dozen food shops. The tables were littered with refuse and food scraps, also on the ground underneath. None of the shop owners were cleaning the tables, we were there over half an hour not one table was cleaned. After we moved because it was so dirty we also noticed that seagulls were picking through the scraps and defecating on the tables. Very dissapointed to see this low standard of hygiene and basic cleanliness in a first world country, especially in these times when the health dept. has mandated regular cleaning of tables between customers. Filthy location and will not go back.

This place needs cleaning up. Overflowing stinking bins, filthy disgusting toilets, Litter everywhere and plastic blowing straight into the ocean......and nobody seems to care at all. I think it's time that management got a shake up.

The boardwalk is a mixture of old fashioned and modern. The old idea of a walk along the pier, combined with the modern demands of food , drink and browsing are perfectly combined at Sorrento Quay boardwalk. There is the kids beach for the toddlers and pre teens. the teenagers can swim in the deeper parts of the water and jump off the pontoon. There is a recently added platform to accommodate the growing crowds and also to house the free entertainment that happens in the peak season.

Plenty to see and do at the Sorrento Quay Boardwalk. Lots of speciality shops where you can find gifts, even for those who have everything. Plenty of dining options that cater for all appetites and budgets from breakfast to afternoon tea, ice creams on a hot day to buffet dinners. There is entertainment and places to sit and people watch. Always love to visit!

The Sorrento Quay Boardwalk at Hillarys boat harbour is one of Perth's most popular attractions for locals and tourists year round.
Since the America's Cup, in 1987, I have been here four or five times a year to catch up with friends for coffee or meals.
Yesterday I came here for the first time since renovations were completed over the winter months.
This review is my personal thoughts, others may have a different view to me.
The Southern Entrance to the Boardwalk through to the retail and dining outlets has been updated by repainting - the colour appears to be a light grey giving a concrete type appearance - I think it makes the complex look unappealing - a bit like a semi-industrial building.
Inside the main thoroughfare past retail shops to the main food outlets the central arcade has been updated with a peaked glass atrium making it very bright and unappealing - yesterday the temperature underneath was hot, humid and unbearable on a 38C day - the dozen or so shops under the glass roof had their doors closed looking as they were not open - normally this section is bustling with locals and tourists browsing the stalls.
Most people including myself walked past the shops seeking a cooler area.
Another thing that has changed is that bench seats have been removed along all internal thoroughfares - in the past you could sit if you were tired - now the only seating is in food outlets or outside near the jetty and concourse - not easy for older people on hot days or in winter.
I guess management made these improvements however I'm not sure the visitor experience is enhanced.
in saying all of that I really enjoy visiting this attraction - its nice dining whille watching all the water based activities - I do recommend a visit - just plan to keep cool on a hot day.

How lucky am I . We live walking distance to the boardwalk. Every time I go there I feel like I’m on holidays. The beach is so safe for little ones and the water is lovely and clean.lots of restaurants to chose from and the breakwater pub has the best views .
Take a stroll on the boardwalk and shop in leisure. No ones in a hurry . Plenty of FREE parking. A must for tourist and locals

They're closed. If you want a water park try the Maze/Outback Splash or Adventure World.
