For young and not so young this is underwater mine of Information on the coastal waters of WA. It has a moving walkway. It’s s must see & do & return if necessary. Child friendly, with loads of information and interactive experiences. The only downsides were the on site cafe
(see separate review) and on-site shop. The cost per visit is $30 per adult with discounts for infants children & seniors. I’m looking forward to my next visit already.

We arrive when the doors had opened and when we left was busy with people. It was in the school holidays. It was great to see the display when no one else was around as when we went thru the second time on the tunnel you have to deal with rude, inconsiderate people. Expensive to enter $30 for adults & $18 for kids 3 years upwards. Fill in a few hours but no need to go back for another 20 years.

This aquarium is spectacular and very well run. We were in time to see the shark/ray feeding and attend the dangerous animals talk. So very interesting and I got some fabulous pictures. We were able to access the aquarium using public transit - the metro and a bus. Doing it this way involved quite a lot of walking. An extremely good day out.

We booked a special birthday dinner at the AQUA aquarium. The cost was $175 pp.

The Venue aquarium is stunning however the meal was very ordinary and not what we expected.

The meal is 4 courses and includes beverages. There was an hour wait between each course

The entree was very basic and had no taste.

The main, we had chicken which consisted of 2 spring roll filo pastry with
Vegetables. The chicken thigh pieces were so small we thought it was mince and the vegetables were undercooked and cold. It was horrible.

Desert share plate did not cater for 2 people.

I would recommend that people pay the $18 pp entrance fee to view the aquarium and then eat elsewhere.

We would not recommend this dinner to anyone.

We all enjoyed the time at AQWA, this time doing the Behind The Scenes experience. Gordon did a great job as our guide/marine biologist and we discovered new and interesting information about the marine creatures and the set up at AQWA. Thanks again Gordon. :)

The Aquarium here is great - my criticism is how long it takes just to get in the door. Arrived at 10am opening time and waited just over 15 mins to get our tickets and head in.

So many attractions now have electronic kiosks to purchase tickets - would save so much time and energy. The lobby to the aquarium is small so perhaps this is why it’s never happened but it certainly would be a step in the right direction.

The aquarium is also great for a one off visit but it would be nice to see some variety in displays or attractions for local Perth visitors who come with their kids more than once a year.

AQWA is about half an hour north of the City CBD but well worth the drive. It was extremely popular that day as it was school holidays, with plenty of school holiday activities such as mermaids. So best to visit out of these times if you don't have young children. I especially loved the beautiful seahorses and shady sea dragon. The underwater passage walk under the pool below the rays and sharks to classical music is a special experience too. The cafe was too crowded to stay and we went to the nearby shops for lunch, but probably good judging by the crowd. The gift shop was worth a look, packed with tempting and good quality goodies to buy. A great place to visit.

Visited with my 10 yo son. He loved multiple fish tanks, especially with dangerous sea creatures; but touching real sharks in a touch pool was the best. Underwater tunnel with a travelator is good, but fish tank seemed overcrowded. Downside of AQWA-to buy a concession ticket, you must be a WA pensioner with a valid document to be shown to a cashier .

We really loved our visit. A little different to aquariums where you have to follow one trail. At AQWA you can come back to different areas and look again. We really loved the touch pool with the sharks and starfish. Also sitting watching the fish in the reef tank.
Being the holidays they had a mermaid show which was busy with all the young kids but it didn’t spoil our experience.
We did do the glass bottom raft on top of the tank. I did expect a little more from this but the person uses a rope to pull you to the other side and back that’s all. Think it was 10mins. I was expecting longer.

My husband and I attended the wonderful idea of Dining beneath the sea. We LOVE Aqwa!! We love seeing the rare species that we would never get to see in the wild.
We loved feeling special, sitting in the tunnel watching the fish, sharks and other creatures swim over us while we drank wine, chatted and ate our 3 course meal.
Unfortunately the waitress brought us the wrong drink. No probs, we will drink it anyway.
Even though we had ticked no dietary requirements when booking, as well as told the front desk that we had no dietary requirements, the entre came out as vegetarian because we apparently had dietary requirements. We don't. So that got changed.
Quite a wait between entre and mains but you can sit and watch the fish so that's cool.
Then the mains came out. My husband ordered the vegetable stack because he genuinely loves vegetables. It was literally a stack of overcooked vegetables with no sauce or seasoning. He was very disappointed and hungry afterwards. I got the chicken, but they bought me salmon. Third error of the night... roasted chicken seemed poached to me and again, rather tasteless and I'm not one to usually complain. This was not a cheap meal!!! Desert was ok, pretty sweet.
1 glass of water all night, offered no more. A few alcoholic drinks offered but no alternatives.
The experience was fantastic, to be in the aquarium with no children and take your time before sitting down to eat to wander was great!
The food and service... terrible. Disappointing as we had paid $390 for the 2 of us.
