Day trip at Hillary’s Boat Harbour
Nice drive from Perth City Center. Many selections of dining. It’s a family hangout place, great view! If you are heading to islands for other adventures, this is the place to book ferry tickets etc. it’s cheaper than guided tours.

    Quite A Destination
This place is bigger than you might expect. Apart from all the boat/ yacht mooorings, the place is full of shops and places to eat - quite a destination in itself. We caught the ferry to/ from Rottnest Island here. Plenty to keep waiting passengers amused.

Too bad there aren't many shops.
Visit Rodness Island Tour as the starting point for the fast ferry to the island. It takes less than an hour for the ferry to depart. It's a shame that there are fewer shopping shops than I ever imagined. It was early in the morning, but it was summer vacation and the swimming facilities were very popular for children fishing.

First visit to Hillarys and enjoyed it very much. Weather was wet and windy but much of the boardwalk was under cover so it didn't slow us down much. Also an adjacent sheltered beach. Great spot to watch the boats in the harbour, and lots of parking. Quiet during the day and a bit busier at night, I suspect it would be more crowded on the weekend.

Nice little harbour to roam around with plenty of boats and waterside houses to admire. Outside of the bars there isn’t anywhere really to sit, and a lot of the stores and restaurants seem to have shut down which is a shame, but what is there is decent. With the nearby kids waterpark facilities it’s somewhere for the whole family and makes it easy to spend a number of hours in the area.

We LOVED Hillary’s boat harbour. We were visiting from Sydney and returned a few times in our 7 days trip. It was great for small children, there were lots of great eateries, and the small theme park had great staff who were very friendly and ensured we had a great time!

The Boat harbour is a great retreat on a hot day or a rainy waters night. Most of the main walk ways are covered. Throw on a jacket on a cold night & off you go. There are plenty of cafes & coffee sops scattered around, as well as some fine restaurants. Great family environment.

This harbour offers a great fishing platform for many a Fisher.

The rock wall is usually full of fisherman lined up all the wall to the end. You can usually also see children on the concrete platform inside the harbour.

This is a good place to let the kids have a fish whilst you fetch a coffee from one of the cafes situated on the Boardwalk.

We do get a lot of fishers at Hillarys and is suited to families of all ages. While the rock wall is more suited to older children the Jetty behind AQWA is safer option for families of young children. With Allycats coffee shop at the end of the jetty, your cuppa is just a few steps away :)

We visited here on our son's recommendation and we were glad we did. The wharf is surrounded by many shops, cafes, restaurants and bars and there is lots of variety to choose from if you are intending to eat here. There is a small beach area which they were lightly dredging at the time we were there. We stopped off for a beer tasting paddle at 3 Sheets where we sat at the window and could see right out to the harbour. There s something for everyone here.

The atmosphere is family friendly and a free movie was held on the boardwalk if you wished to sit and enjoy. Food outlets were plentiful and plenty of choices for an ice cream to follow up.
Families were enjoying a swim close by as it was a very warm evening.
No need to be lonely, come down and people watch and soak up the atmosphere. Even tho very busy, parking was not a problem for us.

This is a local favourite and also a great place for tourists to visit.

Situated behind a sea wall it boasts AQWA and a wide choice of options. As it is on a boardwalk you can always find a spot to sit and chill.

There is no shortage of restaurants bars or a pub. You can get a meal whether it be breakfast lunch or dinner. Can get a full meal or just grab some fish & chips or a kebab and watch the scenery.

This is a favourite with northern suburbs locals as it had a family environment with kid safe beach and aquatic fun options for kids in the summer months. I come here all year round and always enjoy my visits.

Great place for toddlers to waddle in the water. With a safe and shallow bay for littles to play in the sand and get experience in the ocean, Hillays is a brilliant spot for families. All the facilities needs, fast food, taverns. shade, shops and showers. Protected beach so tiny waves.
