Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good fun and definitely worth a visit, but for 200dkk there simply isn't enough to do. The focus on kid's entertainment is understandable, but so much more could be done to keep visitors of all ages entertained. There was a half-price entry offer a few days before we visited - for 100dkk we all would have been thoroughly satisfied with the variety of exhibits.

Huge place with two floors full of different exhibits with different themes changing from time to time.
You might want to look at their homepage and see the age recommendation for the exhibits beforehand and decide a possible visit as we experienced some of them to difficult for our kids to follow.
Expensive but many hours of fun - skip the souvenir store.

Loads to keep children of all ages entertained. The best interactive science museum we have visited.
Aug 2022 • Family
We visited as it was one of the activities included in the Copenhagen card. It was well worth the trip out of the centre of Copenhagen (a couple of stops on the train or an hour's walk). It was a brilliant day out, there was so much to do we didn't get chance to do everything. It is very interactive and our children (aged 10 and 12) absolutely loved it. There were so many interactive exhibits-bubbles, a storm simulator, a sensory experience, team activities and a theatre to name a few. There were live science displays as well-the staff were very fluent in both Danish and English (and switching between the two) very impressive. It is the best science museum we have visited and if it was closer to home (England!!) we would definitely be back.

What a museum! Even though we read about it and had high expectations, this is really wow!! Our 3y old daughter had a blast but it was so interesting for us as parents as well 🤣
High quality facilities, such a creativity booster, kids adore it. By far the best Copenhagen activity for kids. And in any city that we have visited till now. Absolute MUST SEE and GO
Price for 2 adults and 3y old kid is cca 70eur. Pricey as everything in CH, but this one fully worth it as you can be there whole day.
We have been in June 21, masks are not needed in Denmark, but you can enter only if you have vaccine, negative test or recovered. As there was basically barely any tourists, place was not crowded and we enjoyed every moment.

We almost didn’t visit after seeing some of the reviews here, but are glad that we did since we had an excellent time!
We are a family of five from the U.K., visiting Denmark, with boys aged from 6 to 11. There were loads of activities that kept them entertained and interested for a few hours. Language wasn’t a problem since everything had both English and Danish, and the mixture of hands-on activities and information appealed to all ages. Also enjoyed a live demo.
Our boys thoroughly enjoyed the visit and they learned things too, so we would certainly recommend the Experimentarium to other families visiting Copenhagen.

We came to spend a couple of hours and ended up spending nearly 3,5hours.
The place is full of activities and our children of 7 and 9 loved it. Especially the experiments on colours, lights/shadows, but also on weight/kinetics and so on where very interesting!
There were a few waiting lines for popular activities but all in all a smooth experience.

They advertize this as something for all ages, but I wouldn’t recommend it without kids. We usually enjoy such science and experiment museums a lot, when they are well-made (e.g, in Barcelona or Lagos (PT)) – but this is not one of those.
I also don’t think kids will learn a lot there, since there are very few actual explanations. In essence, it’s a big playground, for which you can explain the science background to your kids, if you want – and if you know it yourself.

Hi Thomassl
Sorry to hear that Experimentarium did not fulfilled your expectations.
To the best of my knowledge, we have something for all ages.
You can read more about the various exhibitions, and the science behind.

Many attractions were closed or did not work.
In addition, the place is only for small children. This used to be a good place to spend several hours for children and adults alike. The Experimentarium has been reduced to a playground for children and there is nothing of interest for anyone over the age of 10.

You get there as there are so many good opinions that I was so badly surprised when finally I could visit it with my family. There are 3 floors and one is closed. At least 1 on 3 experiments is out of order. A full area on 1st floor is under construction. I believe price should be adapted to the current status of the museum but not. Finally I consider that dedicating one area to plastic surgery and gender change for sure is not a kid attraction.

Hi Simon
Sorry for the late reply
Sad to hear that Experimentarium did not fulfilled your expectations.
Also, I’m sorry you experienced, many broken things.
We have continually a repair team in the exhibitions. 🪛🔨
But of course things can brake. Just like we may be short of spare parts
Having said that, it is of course really annoying to experience.
We are in the process of setting up a new exhibition, therefore we have closed down an area.
The Interactive Rooftop is closed for the winter, and will reopen in the spring of 2024.
Hope you had a good day in here after all.
Best regards and have a nice day

Cannot recommend this place enough! Planned to spend the morning here but could have easily spent the whole day. Tons to keep the kids entertained, amazing experiments and they can touch and play with everything. Went with kids aged 3, 6 and 9 and there was plenty to keep all ages entertained. Highly recommend.

Hi, my granddaughter is 12 years old and rather bright and very curious. She knows more than usual for her age and has an insatiable hunger for more knowledge. But waiting time...? Patience...? It may pose a serious problem...

Hi, I expect there are several attractions but too many visitors. So there will also be some waiting time. Tomorrow, Good Friday, I suppose there will be really crowded... Can I look forward to 10%, 25%, 50%, or even more waiting time? Regards, Michael

How much time would you need to finish the experimentation. We have a day in copenhagen and we plan to do the Tivoli gardens in the evening as well. Would like to know if it is possible to do both
Written 3 June 2018
Experimantarium is full of science experiments and of 2 floors . Even if u start by 10 am u will not be able to do all the experiments by 5 pm. Also u have to be on ur toes all the time which will make you tired n then wont get to enjoy tivoli gardens at night at the fullest. My advice would be do half the experimantarium n leave for tivoli gardens as distance between them is also of 20-30 min .so you enjoy both the activities
