The museum showcases the history of Butuan, from ancient times, to modern history. Likewise on display are artifacts such as the tools, equipment, decorations, and body ornaments of the people of Butuan before and during the Spanish period. Samples of the flora and fauna of Butuan are also on display. A highlight of course, would be remnants of certain antique... More

A simple place with a few items, they have some interesting information but have a ways to go. It did not have any cost so it is worth a quick stop as it won't take a long time to tour.

This museum does not have a lot of rare ezhibits. Replicas abound. However the description and story behind the display is very imformative. Its good place to learn about history of butuan

This is my 4th time to be back...this time around there was additional attraction as they had a bit of the mobile museum sponsored by a car company. I was with a Colombian Visitor.. The Lady Guide (forgot her name, so sorry) was very informative, entertaining and gregarious. She gives another dimension to the whole experience... Cheers!

My family had a second visit to Butuan National Museum and we found it with so much improvements going on...the building is expanding, already air-conditioned, artifacts and write ups were properly sequenced.

One can get overwhelmed with the craziness of the busy streets. This is a nice museum with beautiful grounds.

If you like history, this is a must-see. They don't have a lot of display at the moment since they are still expanding but what you will find there are really interesting. My favorites are the contraption that early settlers used to make wine and the pieces of wood that were discovered to be part of the balangay (earliest known... More

We visited the museum in January 2017 and it had only 2 rooms of displays because they are renovating p. However, it was enough for me to realize that Butuan is a very historical place with a rich heritage. I guess the museum would be a lot better when all the exhibits are out.

I went here from Butuan Plaza riding the R-7 jeepney. It was a 10-15 minute ride. You'll know you're near if you already passed through their public market. The fare was only P8.00. I would suggest you to visit the place upon arrival to know Butuan City better and you'd know where to start from there. It was just a... More

The museum was nice but very small. We spent about an hour there tops. Enjoyed the displays. The grounds were pretty as well.
