Even if you are not a fan of temples (I am) worth a visit for the view alone. A bit of a climb to get there but not overly difficult. I resort had a driver take us on a 4WD as they said it was too steep for a tuk tuk. Although stunning inside I wasn't 'moved' in the same... More

This lovely Temple near Ban Krut beach is easily one of the most beautiful wats in Thailand. Situated on top of a hill it provides terrific views in all directions of the beaches and hinterland toward Myanmar. Spotless and well maintained throughout. Only a few other people when I visited. Don't forget to look up at the intricate decorations inside... More

Wat Thang Sai sitting on the crest of Thong Chai mountain (Khao Thong Chai) at the northern end of Ban Krut beach. Wat Thang Sai temple complex is also called Phra Mahathat Chedi Pakdee Prakas. The Wat complex is surrounded by well kept gardens and a magnificent set of stairs leading down to a giant seated Buddha image situated below... More

The most beautiful temple (wat) I have seen in Thailand. Clean, beautiful fresco and in glass windows pictures. An immense Buddha statue is facing the sea in front of it.

You can see the beauty of the Wat from a distance if walking along Ban Krut beach. We again drove up the very steep road, parking available. You can either take the steps of walk up the road to the foot of the Wat. There are more steps up to the entrance of the Wat. No shoes are to be... More

This Wat is beautiful and well worth a visit. We cycled there and had to get off and push halfway up but when we reached the temple all the effort was worth it.
