Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quite a rare treat to have a super safe place to swim with fish swimming around you. Go for a snorkel and find plenty of flathead sitting on the bottom. Pity you cant go spear fishing there. Just avoid the place immediately after rain as it does get very muddy as does the lake but clears out within a day or two.

Could have stayed here for days just enjoying the water and views.
Nine mile beach up along walk way.
Dolphins are playful and come into rockpool late afternoon.
Easy parking and public toilet near by near Rock Pool Cafe. (important for kids and mums!)
The rocks up walkway have beautiful colouring...and the water has a gem like tone that is so lovely.
Gets windy but such a beautiful walk up and walk on beach.

Beautiful clean water. Protected from the afternoon sea breezes so a great place to spend the day. We have even seen dolphins swimming past. Rockpool cafe does great coffee, burgers and of course ice cream

My wife and I took our 3 children to the Tuncurry Rock Pool for a swim and to see the fish. My daughters aged 13 and 10 were snorkelling along the southern rock wall when they were drawn into a very strong current that dragged them all the way to the end of the rock wall where it meets the netting ropes. Both of my daughters are decent swimmers but the current was too strong and they became quite panicked. Fortunately I was able to get to my youngest girl in time and a kind young man came out to assist my older daughter. He was able to instruct us to pull ourselves along the rope to get out of the current and then swim to shore. Without his knowledge and assistance I’m not sure I could have rescued both of them. As you would understand this was very distressing incident for us all.

The Tuncurry Rock Pool presents as a benign swimming spot but is anything but. I would strongly recommend the council considers moving the net closer to the beach so that swimmers cannot be pulled into deep water. I’d also suggest erecting large warning signs and consider providing lifesavers to avoid a disaster occurring.

The tidal net provides comfort to know no one can easily be swept out to sea even though the bar is so close.

No body shaming on this perfect family swimming and sand castle building area. As a plus size older woman I feel comfortable sun bathing or swimming at the Rockpool with others, be them retirees or young families.

Went for a swim here this weekend and got in serious trouble. Swam out to the net to get close to the dolphins and really struggled to get back. I had to swim to the rocks to pull myself back to the beach and I am a strong swimmer. Cut myself on the oysters and took half an hour to get my breathing normal again. Saw no signs about strong currents. Stay in shallows and swim across the pool not toward the net

Beautiful little beach, with easy parking and a cafe nearby. Outdoor showers close by and easy to walk to. The kids enjoyed it as well as my hubby and I. We didn't eat at the cafe but it looked popular.

What an all in one destination for a day out; play park area, cafe, sandy beach and safe rock pool for swimming.
This is a must for for everyone visiting the area.
Definitely good for kids of all ages. Even the teens enjoyed this trip.

Excellent spot to swim safely for the kids. Cafe is there also for drinks or food. Dolphins were swimming close by. Grassed areas as well as sand. Would be better if there were more undercover areas. Overall a great spot.

This is a great area. Has a nice, safe swimming spot and a lovely little walk along the breakwater looking over the bar out to sea. There are excellent views from the breakwater up to the northern beaches and a nice view to the south back to Forster Beach.
