One of Palladio's high achievements, this beautifully maintained villa remains a residence as well as a testament to the architect's genius. Truly a must see for any with a passion for art and architecture.

This was our fourth visit to this beautiful villa. We asked at the shop for a recommendation for a panini lunch in town. Just go upstairs, we were told -- we had seen a sign for “snacks,” but that meant cicchetti or something like that...More

A feast of frescoes by Veronese adorn the walls and ceilings of this splendid house, designed by Palladio in the 16th century. The elegant interior is richly decorated with mythological scenes, landscapes and even a reputed self-portrait of the artist, as he gazes at visitors...More

Another impressive building by the famous architect Palladio, with an interior richely decorated with frescoes by Veronese. The harmony between landscape and building, so typical for the architect, is really remarkable. A must-see, like the Villa Emo.

Amazing, unbelievably gorgeous! I'm so glad I went there. It was so inspiring!! The frescoes inside are breathtaking. A UNESCO World Heritage site and a home still in use, 600 years after it was built.

You only really see a few rooms, beautifully frescoed and furnished, in this perfectly balanced Palladian house which is still lived in by the family. But what splendid rooms they are! You skid your way round the immense hall in huge slippers in order to...More

Villa Barbaro sits elegantly back and above the road - quiet and still as though no-one could ruffle it's feathers. We visited as a family with grandparents and children 6 and 8 - the children enjoyed wearing the soft slippers over their shoes, required for...More
