The beauty of this lake is truly breath-taking. The drive to the area is so relaxing and all the stress and worry just falls away. It is beautiful and so very amazing and I would hope that everyone would have a chance to see this...More

You can’t miss this on Highway 2 (South Klondike Highway)to Carcross. There is a large lookout. It is gorgeous and worth the stop to see the bright green sectioning this lake.

If this is the only glacial lake you visit, it may seem pretty and unique. But it is difficult to get a truly good picture when there is any wind. If wind is forecast, get to this lake early in the morning to get a...More

The Yukon has many spectacular sights and this is one of the best. If you have your own transportation you can access the lake from a road down the hill from the viewpoint. We went twice and found that the colours of the lake are...More

Just a short drive from Whitehorse this “lake of amazing colour” reveals something special and unique. Make sure you have your camera!

Totally worth stopping if you're in the area! It's a beautiful lake and a quick stop from the highway.

Beautiful views. Long drive to Carcross, the lake is a little past Carcross but worth the drive. We rented a mini van in Skagway and drove to Carcross but do it months before your cruise. The vans get snatched up fast. Carcross is a cute...More

Even on an overcast day (thought not as brilliantly radiant) pulling up on the side of the road to have a quick stretch and road side view, Emerald Lake is really quick wonderful.

A large parking area for busses to turn around and RV's to pull off the road. There is an info board there also, but no RESTROOMS. This is on the road from Whitehorse to Skagway. It is 6 miles N. of Carcross, and about 1...More

When you get to the pull off for Emerald Lake, definitely make this stop. It is quite beautiful and the greens reminded us of the aurora's in the winter. The signage is also excellent.

Sorry for the delay in responding. All small lakes will be frozen November and larger lakes will start to freeze over. Northern lights can only be seen in our winter months as in the summer we have nearly 24 hours of light... More

Yes, December could be a good month, it always depends if it's clear or not. The best thing is to check the activity. I live in the Yukon and I saw beautiful northern light lights, as well as in NWT and even southern parts... More
