About
Situated on the banks of the Yukon River, the Cultural Centre is a place where we celebrate the heritage and contemporary way of life of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation people. It is also a gathering place for people of all cultures. The vision of the Cultural Centre is to revive, preserve, and demonstrate our language, practices, values and traditional way of life for the benefit of Kwanlin Dün. We also want to share our culture with other First Nations and people from around the world.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely amazing!!!! Please support this great place and go and learn more about these very creative and industrious people. We felt very welcomed. The exhibits are really good and each have an explanation so you know what it is. We learned so much.
I love it and bought a few items and gave a donations. Center is new and bathrooms are clean.
In summer they offer more activities.

Beautiful!! Such a special space, right on the water. The longhouse and actually the whole building is stunning. Historical art as well as new done by local youth are on display.

This is a beautiful facility, with lots of great cultural pieces and local stories. When we visited there was a VR exhibit that was beautiful and engaging. There was a workshop going on in one of the many event spaces and a grand room where they could accommodate a large function. It doesn’t take long to go through this space, but it is a must see when in Whitehorse.

Another great facility that Yukoners are lucky to be able to enjoy (along with the Yukon Arts Centre). Not really a "destination", but a great place to attend an event. When they have a local exhibition, it's well worth a quick visit if you're nearby. A visit to the adjacent public library is also recommended - there's a particularly impressive collection of Northern books in the south-east corner of the library that is under-appreciated but highly recommended.

We are three BC travellers spending 5 days in Whitehorse. It is unfortunate that, as of October 9th, the cultural centre is not open to the public yet.

We were on our way to the Lumel Glass studio, and happened upon the Kwanlin Dun center which was across the street. It is a newish civic building that offers refuge from the cold outside. (-36 degrees). There are some exhibits about the First Nation and how this building came to be. We wish it would have WiFi.

Clearly the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre is the center for so many events, meetings and information. The self-guided tour was difficult to understand and no one greeted or offered to help so I just wandered around the first floor.

The building is impressive but there is not much to see in the building except a movie about the making of the canoe, and a few artifacts. I would not recommend it.
