When you visit Montreal I recommend a walk to the cross, the view is good and the walk from Salamander park takes a while but its worth it imho, a real good trek.

Once you reach the Mount Royal Chalet it is just another 10 minutes or so to the summit where the famous Mount Royal Cross is. Beautiful walk through the woods as well and lots of squirrels buzzing around you. Very nice.

The crosses in Mount Royal park you have the climb up to the top of the hill to the cross which is overlooking the city of Montreal make sure you have a good hiking shoes if you plan to leave the road.
