Stopped here for a beer with a friend. Very nice and varied selection of craft beers. I had the Resurrection and if you like a good, strong stout beer you will not be disappointed. The place has a very cozy, warm and modern feel to it. The music they were playing was a little too 'abstract' for my taste. Service... More

I was taken here on arrival to Montreal. From the outside the place does not look particularly inviting but on entry it is something else. We pulled up 3 seats at the bar and around us were people having beers, ciders chatting away or reading - all in no hurry. I joked it felt just like Starbucks with beer -... More

Have bought the beer in speciality shops so we took the chance to visit the pub when in Montreal. Small neighborhood bar in the trendy Plateau neighborhood. About 15 beers on tap with a small food menu (Lots of vegetarian choices). If you are a fan of Belgian style beers this is the place to go. Gets crowded fast on... More

"Peché Mortel" Imperial Coffee Stout is the best! Bartenders are friendly and welcoming to out-of-town folks like myself. I'm from New York, can't wait to return to Montreal in November. I'll be sure to stop by here again! Dim lit, cozy atmosphere. It can get a little crowded, but the prices, drinks and service make it worth the trip.

Recommended by someone & we were pleased with the individual pizzas and the beer selection. Spent several hours at a corner window table and did not feel rushed to leave. Service was very good.

Good spot to grab a beer - by most opinions, they make some of the best beer in Montreal. I particularly enjoyed the resurrection Porter. I read a review that the food wasn't good. Au contraire! We ordered nachos to split and they were excellent. We didn't see a food menu - we just saw other people eating nachos and... More

I've had their famous "Peché Mortel" Imperial Coffee Stout in Brooklyn, and knew the brewery's reputation, so I did not let the opportunity pass! Great beer as expected, with a big surprise with the Tamarind Gose. Food is also good. Ive tried the pizza and nachos.

Noisy inside, but sit outside and it's wonderful! About 18 beers on tap. As an IPA fan, I was in heaven. You can select a 2.5 oz, 4 oz, 8 Oz, 12 Oz or 16 Oz size - this allows you to sample many of their offerings. Went to a micro Brewery beer festival over the weekend, and to my... More

We stopped in when staying nearby. Great IPA. Lovely martini. Good pub food. Waitress (Sofie) was wonderful. We sat outside and watched the world go by on the sidewalk. Wonderful evening!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
