Dive bar on St-Laurent

A very friendly, fun and down to earth place along the Main and a good contrast to all the scary looking clubs. Definitely a bit hipster central in there but unlike other cities... read more

Came across this tiny bar during the day and thought we'd try our luck at night. Drinks were cheap and we had a jug of cider for $15 and 4 shots for $12! Photobooth available as well as foosball and a hockey version of the game too (Not sure what it's called, oops)! The bartender was very accommodating and even... More

I had a great time at Korova! This place is crowded with young hipsters from McGill, and there's minimal seating so don't plan for a place to sit and chat with friends. The dj plays good music, there's a small game section with foosball and a photo booth, as well as small dance floor with a smoke machine. Good place... More

Watch your things. My daughter and her friend had their iphones stolen. Reported to managment, who were unconcerned and seemed to insinuate frequent occurrence and that they were to blame.

Korova is the best place to go if you shop at value village and like to RAGE YOUR FACE OFF! No need to impress anyone. Decent bar, crazy hipster crowd. Check out Thursday funk-night or $ucka-Free Monday$. Don't get there too early though, Korova doesn't pick up until 12:30 or later.

A very friendly, fun and down to earth place along the Main and a good contrast to all the scary looking clubs. Definitely a bit hipster central in there but unlike other cities I've been to, they didn't have that attitude. There's usually a DJ spinning and they also have a pool table and foosball table. I love this bar!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
