The most terrible service i’ve seen
Dec. 2019 • Family
We celebrated a birthday party there and it was the most terrible experience. The staff were rude to everyone, didn’t get up even once to assist (even when they were asked for help to navigate through the system). The tables were barely set up (no spoons, or forks). Badmouthing the group of kids with the comments “those crazy kids”... well, they would be much more in tact if parents could focus on the kids and not run around trying to figure everything out on their own. No music, not even a smile. Never again will go there for any activity and would never advise to anyone.

Entertainment in the city
Jul. 2018 • Family
The family and I went to the Forum on July 2nd for some bowling with the family. After they opened at 1400, we started our game. Though there are several alleys, a bar and restaurant, and big screens, it was really empty on the observed holiday. The kids enjoyed the bowling pin graphics on the overhead screens. It was a decent time here.

Can I give it zero?

Service slow and poor. Had to swat fruit flies away from our table constantly. Gravy tastes like someone dumped an ashtray full of cigarette butts into it. Food was cold. Salad dressing was so old it had solidified. Wouldn't return if someone paid me.

Rough all around

We finished off our trip in Montreal with the hopes of having a few beers and lunch, shooting some pool, and taking in the legacy of my favorite hockey team. Aside from seeing center ice of the old Forum and looking at some of the displays, everything else fell flat.

The bar and game area is huge and has incredible potential. Yet, the few people that worked there that we encountered could not have cared less. The service was abysmal throughout - took forever to get the balls for pool, and the bored young woman there situated us at a table with ripped felt. The canned Molson I ordered was sitting in the ice bath forever and it tasted like I was sucking on tin foil.

Despite this, we still were having a good time. Then we moved on over to the bar for lunch, where the harried young man that was tending bar was also the waiter, busboy and server for the whole place on a Sunday afternoon. Whereas the pool tables were empty, the air hockey and games were not as several families were out for the day....and it was this one man's job to serve all of us.

Needless to say, the food and drinks took forever to arrive. My chicken sandwich was tasty but was the size of a slider. My friend's burger was not good, and the other one's sandwich was barely edible. For this feast, we paid market prices - not acceptable.

Did we have a bad time? No? But as my one friend said, "despite their best efforts, we made it work." The whole place looked and felt like no one cared - not the management, not the owner, and not the staff. The potential is great, but someone needs to care. Come for the history, but don't stay for anything else.

Rude, impolite, impatient, insincere staff who wished us "have a great evening " after ruining our day!

Zero stars honestly for bowling alley ! Horrible experience for us 8 people (4 couples and 2 kids; 3 and 6 yrs old) visiting Montreal from Quebec City and Toronto for the Easter weekend. We called the Forum today at 11:55 AM to make reservations for bowling, and we were told that there is no reservation on weekends, it is on a first come first serve basis. At 7:45 PM, we went to the bowling alley and were informed by the lady at the front desk that we would need 2 lanes, and there would be a waiting time of around 2.5 hours. I left my name and phone number on the waiting list and 8 of us came back at 9.45 PM. At 9.54 PM, we went to the front desk and were told by a male staff, Michael (the lady was not at the desk) that we were up next. We waited at the desk for 5 minutes, after which Michael said that he would call us. My friends sat on the stools nearby and I sat RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REGISTRATION DESK in case they missed us in the crowd or we missed our turn due to the loud music. The guy went somewhere else after a while, and the lady came back to the desk, and within the next 4-5 minutes, allotted a lane to 4 other people. I went to ask about our turn and noticed that my name had been cut off from the waiting list. When I asked her about this she replied rudely “I called you, you didn't answer your phone and so you lose your turn, you cannot play today”. My friend checked his phone to see a call exactly THREE minutes earlier, which he could not hear due to the loud music. I tried to explain this to her, however she was extremely impolite and rude and cut me in between to say “Whatever you say, you are not going to play today”. When I asked to speak to Michael, she replied “Whoever you speak to, you will get the same answer”. She went inside to find Michael, who then came out to the desk and repeated what his female colleague had to say. I asked him if he had communicated to his female colleague about us waiting for our turn before he went away from the desk. He said he hadn’t and now BOTH of them spoke to us in a way that it was our fault that we missed the phone call (in a loud environment), our name on the waiting list/our turn was cancelled and our lane got allotted to someone ALL IN A SPAN OF THREE MINUTES!
While we can understand a lack of communication between the staff when one of them took a break from the desk (which is their mistake, NOT OURS), what is UNACCEPTABLE is the extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful manner they spoke to us, topped off by a sarcastic “Have a great night guys” while we were leaving. Was this just the overinflated ego of the staff lacking basic courtesy refusing to accept their mistake or a sign of racism (as my friends thought)?
Enough to say we will NEVER be going to this place again and will dissuade as many people as we can from going to Forum. And you two at the desk in bowling alley, what a way to represent Montreal in front of Tourists who come to visit your city for a short relaxed vacation! Shame on you.

Wow, that's my kind of bowling.
Nice decor, big screen TV, restaurant and bar service.
Not what you expect from a bowling alley.

A fun arcade for the kids, have a pint with the adults
Mar. 2017 • Family
We mostly came to the Forum to see the history part of it, having been the home of the Montreal Canadiens for much of their existence. After looking around all the displays we decided to have a drink and let the kids play in the arcade. The kids had a blast with pre-loaded arcade credit cards. Lots to choose from like air hockey, ski ball, plenty of video games. The adults sat at the bar and had a few pints. A few ordered some appetizers, which most agreed were overpriced and not that good, so after and hour and a half we left the Forum and went down Ste-Catherine Street and found a place for dinner. But for some quick entertainment, this was a fun place for the kids.

We went to this place after watching a movie, because we were looking for an easygoing place for a burger. We did not expect much, as we know that in this place you mostly go to watch a match, but gosh if the food was horrible! The burgers were dry and served with a ridiculous small salad, whereas the fries were overfried. One of us dared try pasta and it came as a one packet of frozen stuff. The prices are too high for the low quality of the food, and the service is just enough kind; you could wait for hours, before being asked if you want more water.

But you can go play bowling, if you choose the entrance to the right. And you will not waste your money.

With my husband & I was ignored
Sep. 2016 • Couples
We made a special trip to check out this place, We are visiting from Vancouver & we wanted a casual place to eat & watch the World Cup hockey game. We took the metro from our hotel & when we finally found the place, my husband sat down at the bar while h went to the washroom. When I fit to the bar j sad waiting for 1 of the 2 bartender/servers to ask if j wanted anything ... No - neither made ANY attempt to talk to me. My husband was so pissed that he paid for his drink $ we left ..
The place us a fame type centre with bowling also - seemed to vs a younger demographic ...
