If your looking for history don't waste your time.

After going to the old Maple Leaf Gardens a few days prior and seeing there displays of the history of the building, including seats in original locations, artifacts and other original features including the signage out front, I was expecting something similar in Montreal especially since the old Forum is considered a hockey cathedral. Boy was I disappointed. You could barely tell the building was ever home to a hockey team other than some pictures on a wall by one of the entrances and the a centre ice logo in the middle of the building. Very little history or artifacts. Unless your going to see a movie or eat a subpar burger at the sports bar, don't waste your time going.

Hard to believe that the Canadiens actually played here. Mostly empty with a handful of derelicts. Fun to see some seats from the old Forum. It was a must see for me but mostly a letdown as nothing much is going on in there.

No working washrooms. Seriously!!! Was really looking forward to visiting but it in fact was a total waste of time and parking.

Pristine Tribute to an Old Landmark

For Hockey fans or entertainment fans, the old Montreal Forum, creatively restored into a courtyard mall, is easy to get to from Atwater station and continues to offer something to do for locals and visitors alike. It looks like there's even room for more businesses in there, so hopefully it can fill more spots if foot traffic demands it. On the third floor, there's a multi-purpose entertainment bar with various games, bowling, ping pong, pool etc... Additionally there's The Comedy Nest, a must-see for stand-up comedy fans. And if you've finished watching a movie at the Cineplex on the ground floor, you can always walk across the street to yet another indoor mall.

Special Memories
Sep. 2018 • Couples
My husband was like a kid in a candy store as he checked out all the pictures, sat in the old forum seats, and had his picture taken by the Rocket Richard statue. What a wonderful trip down memory lane for Montreal Canadiens' fans and for hockey fans generally. Nicely presented.

Rude, insincere, staff at bowling alley
Mar. 2018 • Friends
Zero stars honestly ! Horrible experience for us 8 people (4 couples and 2 kids; 3 and 6 yrs old) visiting Montreal from Quebec City and Toronto for the Easter weekend. We called the Forum today at 11:55 AM to make reservations for bowling, and we were told that there is no reservation on weekends, it is on a first come first serve basis. At 7:45 PM, we went to the bowling alley and were informed by the lady at the front desk that we would need 2 lanes, and there would be a waiting time of around 2.5 hours. I left my name and phone number on the waiting list and 8 of us came back at 9.45 PM. At 9.54 PM, we went to the front desk and were told by a male staff, Michael (the lady was not at the desk) that we were up next. We waited at the desk for 5 minutes, after which Michael said that he would call us. My friends sat on the stools nearby and I sat RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REGISTRATION DESK in case they missed us in the crowd or we missed our turn due to the loud music. The guy went somewhere else after a while, and the lady came back to the desk, and within the next 4-5 minutes, allotted a lane to 4 other people. I went to ask about our turn and noticed that my name had been cut off from the waiting list. When I asked her about this she replied rudely “I called you, you didn't answer your phone and so you lose your turn, you cannot play today”. My friend checked his phone to see a call exactly THREE minutes earlier, which he could not hear due to the loud music. I tried to explain this to her, however she was extremely impolite and rude and cut me in between to say “Whatever you say, you are not going to play today”. When I asked to speak to Michael, she replied “Whoever you speak to, you will get the same answer”. She went inside to find Michael, who then came out to the desk and repeated what his female colleague had to say. I asked him if he had communicated to his female colleague about us waiting for our turn before he went away from the desk. He said he hadn’t and now BOTH of them spoke to us in a way that it was our fault that we missed the phone call (in a loud environment), our name on the waiting list/our turn was cancelled and our lane got allotted to someone ALL IN A SPAN OF THREE MINUTES!
While we can understand a lack of communication between the staff when one of them took a break from the desk (which is their mistake, NOT OURS), what is UNACCEPTABLE is the extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful manner they spoke to us, topped off by a sarcastic “Have a great night guys” while we were leaving. Was this just the overinflated ego of the staff lacking basic courtesy refusing to accept their mistake or a sign of racism (as my friends thought)?
Enough to say we will NEVER be going to this place again and will dissuade as many people as we can from going to Forum. And you two at the desk in bowling alley, what a way to represent Montreal in front of Tourists who come to visit your city for a short relaxed vacation! Shame on you.

The old forum is a trip down memory lane. Now a complex. You can still hear the cheering , the skates slashing the ice and the excitement of a goal. The photos of Dtamley cup winning teams very evocstive

Movie theatre is clean and offers many films. Gym is bare bones and not luxury. Comedy club has occasional good acts and bowling is fun. History is good for hockey fans. Miss the excitement of the games. Can still feel the ghosts

Finding the Comedy Nest
Aug. 2017 • Couples
Came to the Forum to see comedians at the Comedy nest. Easy to find, the elevator has a poster letting you know exactly where to go. The cineplex is also inside to see a movie. Nice to stop at Tim Hortons before or after a show right at the entrance.
