I have been in cigar establishments around the world and this is one of the best. The selection of sticks is second to none, the service is friendly and attentive and it is a perfect place to have a smoke. If you are a cigar smoker and in Montreal it is a must.

I've been here a number of times. The staff is always very pleasant and knowledgeable. Great way to spend an hour while relaxing while the wife and daughter shop. Prices are what you expect in Quebec, Canada. Meaning my bill was roughly C$80 for one Cohiba Genios Maduro 5 and a café Ole. Now this same cigar I can purchase... More

Unfortunately taxes in Canada are something like 200% of tobacco. Great atmosphere for a cigar. I will usually only pick up one or two cigars due to the high prices in Canada. Relax and smoke one there; it's a really comfortable place to enjoy a good cigar.

The La Casa del Habano in Montreal is only one of three Such stores in Canada. The other two are in Toronto and Windsor. They closed the store in Vancouver. The store is a half block from the Fine Arts Museum and it is not easy to find a place a park unless one is staying at lodging in the... More

Actually Casa Del Habano is the only chain of stores I would trust to not sell you fakes. They are the official distributors of Habanos and will always deliver you premium cigars. The store in Montreal was stocked full of anything you are looking for. Yes the prices are higher but you get what you pay for. (not fakes). The... More

I checked this place out after I saw it reviewed here. The staff is friendly and very attentive. there are 2 rooms for tobaccos. One for hand rolled and the other for machine made. A third room can be found in the back, for a smoking and drinking lounge. They also sell other manly items. I will let you see... More

In November, a very good friend invited me to a cigar at La casa. I am an avid cigar smoker, so of course went along. The minute you enter it smells great. The main humidor is well stacked and all cigars well presented. The knowledgeable staff will not only make recommendations based on your flavor and strength profile, but will... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
