Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.

Don't expect too much
May 2019
The first thing you need to appreciate is that the majority of seats are uncovered, so don't expect cover unless you have a seat in the top 6 rows for 3/4 of the stadium. The separate stand is mostly covered, but the prices there are prohibitive.
We contacted the club in advance to ask if our niece could be mentioned on the PA system to mark her first game there and another achievement for her, but they refused. Which is strange for an organisation in a league which is trying to claim a slice of the N.American sports market. Their insistence on e-tickets was another serious problem to us, given that we struggled to get our mobile phones to do anything without a service provider.
This lack of kindness left me determined not to spend as much as I would normally in their Shop, but I was shocked at what I found there. They seem to do their utmost to deter. Some of their scarves were selling at $50 - ridiculous. A local, browsing various items next to me, said "Trop cher!", and I had to agree.
The ultras behind both goalmouths did their best to create an atmosphere, but the game was not inspiring. One of the highlights was the view of the Olympic Stadium tower.
We could have visited two more home games during our time in Montreal, but we did not feel the need to return. But in Montreal, common sense isn't always standard. This was illustrated by the massive sign for the Ladies' toilet which was painted on the wrong side of the facility, rather than the side facing the concourse.

Inefficiency at it’s finest

Why is it so consistently frustrating to buy food here? if you want to get some grub here, come 2 hours early, or miss the first half.

Awesome soccer experience in Montreal
Sep. 2018 • Family
We had a great time at the Impact vs. Red Bulls game. Having come from a non-soccer specific stadium experience (NE Revs fans), it was great to be in Stade Saputo. So much closer to the action, and the aluminum bleacher seating made the freight train sounding stomping of feet electrify the stadium atmosphere.
Gilette does have better seats - complete with high backs and cup holders, but for the 2 hour game, Stade Saputo was comfortable enough.
Loved the pre-game video games, foosball and drumming in the causeway which my son took part in. Super easy to get their via the Viau metro station.
Negatives are lack of better food choices and the short seatbacks, otherwise was perfect for us - and a 3-0 victory for Montreal!

Great venue for soccer
Aug. 2018 • Family
Took the family to a Montreal Impact game on a beautiful summer evening to see an exiting game against the Chicago fire. The stadium was great ... seemed like good viewing angles from everywhere and sets were comfortable. The washrooms were clean and plentiful and there were lots of options for food/vending and places to get drinks etc. Line ups were not bad for the number of people that were there. The stadium seemed very new and was well maintained... its right next to the big O and a 2 minute walk to the metro. Was easy to get there and gone.

Good place to watch a soccer game
Jul. 2018 • Couples
As a stadium, Stade Saputo is pretty good. You are close to the field and the fans are enthusiastic. One thing to keep in mind- the main stand faces the sun in the afternoon. Sunscreen is a good idea. Food was expensive- it is, after all, stadium food- but lines weren't long. Perhaps the most unique thing about the stadium is that, to get to it from the metro, one has to walk by several of the Olympic venues.

Great family experience
Jul. 2018 • Family
While the MLS does not provide a superb soccer experience, my two grand sons had a great time. We had a family package that made a great value evening.
The Impacts fans are quite noisy and fun.
We parked at the Olympic Stadium that made leaving quite easy.

Fun time

Watched a soccer game. Easy to get to on the subway. There was a buy one get one deal on the draft beer. The viande fumée was delicious. Very family friendly and a lot of fun.
