This was a fantastic tour of the culinary highlights in Mile End. Vera is a hilarious guide, who loves to talk about food. She had excellent recommendations for whatever you are craving. The walking portion was not at all strenuous. The food portions at each stop totaled FAR MORE food than we were anticipating. Don't eat breakfast beforehand! Excellent value... More

Definitely worth every dollar! The quality and quantity of food was superb. We were stuffed. Definitely plan on a later supper that evening! Vera was energetic, knowledgeable and made a group of strangers feel comfortable and have fun. I would definitely recommend this to all foodies!

We had a wonderful time walking through Old Montreal with a charming guide that new her history of the town, Vera. She was a delight, walking us thru the historical places and taking us to taste some wonderful food (specially the one from Portugal and the Montreal typical dessert). We recommend it and for sure will be back with out... More

We had the pleasure of meeting our guide Vera in the "old Montreal food tour"! She was very knowledgeable, friendly and her personality made the gloomy day fun! The spots we visited offered great food choices but most of all atmosphere. Would highly recommend taking this or any other food tour when travelling anywhere (new or not). It's a great... More

This food tour was really terrific. All the shops and restaurants that we visited in Old Montreal were really good and our tour guide, Vera, was great. We learned a lot about the city, enjoyed walking around Old Montreal and got to taste some wonderful food. Each one of these restaurants and shops was unique, delicious and very hospitable to... I highly recommend the Mile End Montreal Food Tour. The guide, Darren, was awesome!!! He is a native of the city and was a great guy. He was passionate about his job and very knowledgeable about the food, city and community. You could tell he really wanted us to enjoy the tour. The food on the tour was outstanding. This... More

I had an amazing time with our tour guide Vera. It did rain a little bit on our tour, but we barely paid it any attention because of how fun the whole experience was. We hit 7 places in total on the Old Montreal Food Tour with ample time to sample and check out things to buy at some of... More

Had Sandy as our tour guide and she really made the whole experience great. A friend of mine booked for me and I wasn't really expecting much. But, just like what others have mentioned, this is not just a food tour. This is Montreal's history plus food tour. Nothing was rushed and the food portions were perfect, including the tour... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
