Very unique area, all the houses are three storeys tall with outdoor stairs. I've only seen this sort of house in Montreal, not sure why that is

We took a foodie tour of Mile End and found it lacking. Samples were so-so. Nothing remarkable. Better things to do with your time in Montreal.

Nice restaurants, cafés, bakeries and bar. Leonard Cohen used to lived in this district. It's a nice place but a lot of hipster in this area

I was shocked (pleasantly) by how many bars and cafes there are in this area. All of them boutique places as well, no chain establishments. Definitely a great area to explore when you're in town

Was really nice to see a bit of real Montreal and were recommended to get an ice-cream at Kem Koba which we did. quite a way out though and my boys did not appreciate going there.

Mile end is still full of hipsters and artists etc, but since UBSOFT became the major employer, and old sweat shops have been converted to expensive lofts, things are a bit wonky. You have places that are really hip and others that are so yuppy...More

Mile-End Restaurant is very good. The Food's great, service is good and the price is right.
