I went there on a Canadian holiday so most of the stores were closed. Nice architecture. Like the glass roof, the open atmosphere, the gorgeous fountain (Amphitrite fountain & black granite reflecting pool). The main attraction in this building for me is the Berlin Wall-what a piece of history that shows the endurance of humans. Also in this building you... More

If you are visiting Montreal, put this site about 31st in your list of places to visit. The location is a series of unremarkable office towers, with glass atria between some buildings, creating places to wander. It was interesting to see the piece of the Berlin Wall that is preserved at one location. I didn't see anything else that would... More

More than one entry to this mix of old & new, be sure to see the exterior & interior from all. Such soaring height & light inside especially on the central section of all floors. The Reflection Pool with its Fountain of Aphrodite. Many eateries, services & businesses. An unexpected item of interest is the remains of a concrete bunker... More

It offers shopping, eating, offices, hotels and more. The Centre de commerce mondial de Montréal spans an entire city block. It brings together several restored historic buildings. This is a business hub located in downtown Montreal. There is a bank , exchange office , cafes as well as boutiques for the professionals. If in downtown and in need to exchange some money make sure to try the place in the World trade centre. The building itself is nicely constructed with a modem touch while keeps the traditional... Very modern complex, and often very crowded. It is perhaps nice to visit on a rainy day to kill some time.

Basically during a hard working day mid week, you can go to the world trade centre grab a coffee at the local cafes and look around the shops while enjoying the peace and calm of the fountain at the entrance. Also, if you want to exchange your money, you are in the best place in the city.

Head office to Power Corp., formerly the HO of Canada Steamship Lines, it is often the target of pranks in Quebec. When you buy a car here, it comes with Power Brakes, Power Steering and Power Finance..lol. Some elegant shops for shirts or Atrt. The Hotel Intercontinental also has a great lounge and friendly service.

It is an interesting and modern building - especially the exterior - but other than that - it is just a conference center. It is quite big and it is 5-10 walk from the old city and the old port!

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
