Every time I'm in Montreal I try to visit the Oratory. The view from there is amazing. I don't care much for its interior. It is modern and lack charm. Escalators are available and they are handy on the way up.

Gps led us to a place where there was no charge. I'm not sure what entrance you are referring to. We did not have a charge.

They have special set of wooden steps in the middle. I think it can be done at anytime.
