Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a pretty cool place to visit. Located amidst the hustle and bustle of Ste Catherine Street it's a gorgeous building with ever changing art installations. It also has shops and small restaurants. Worth stopping in if you're in the area. I always walk through and take photos of the art.

Loved being here during the International Jazz Festival. The street vibe was wonderful. Excellent but discrete security, lively atmosphere, lots to see and do all around the Festival site. We enjoyed a fabulous concert atTheatre Maissonneuve... excellent sound quality, comfortable seating, good crowd control. Reasonably priced tickets.

Known to be Canada's first performing Art Center (1963) it is the theater that generally presents large scale productions. Current undergoing a "facelift"

In my opinion, Place des Arts is one of the reasons why Montreal is one of the greatest cities in the world.
Free music, street performances and above all, nice people and a sense of civility.
Last week I went with friends to enjoy the free shows included on the "Francofolies" festival and found a corner with chairs and tables so people would sit around for a quiet drink. There was not a glass or paper on the floor, everything was kept extraordinarily clean after a whole day of shows. The aesthetics of the place are very pleasant and the atmosphere is calm but also party-like. It is hard to describe, but it is definitely a must-go for any visitor in Montreal.
I like it better in summer, although in winter it is also alive with different activities and art exhibits.

Last Saturday we had a pleasure to see and listen to Valery Gergiev and The Mariinsky Orchestra in Place des Arts. The concert was wonderful, and I hope they will be back soon. However, I will be very careful to buy tickets for this venue, I was VERY surprise to find out that they have tickets with assigned seats without the chairs ( I do not know why do they have assigned seats numbers, if they do not have seats for that category.) I just wish, I would see a warning somewhere on the site, when you buy tickets that you will be standing 2 hours on your feet. We got those tickets because the concert was sold out, but I could not even imagine that in this new, modern and beautiful concert hall I would not have a chair to sit. We talked to other people and they all were surprise by that. I think, this is humiliating for people to see those tickets, can you put some chairs there? Or at least warn people.

Lovely venue with multiple rooms, decently comfortable chairs, acoustics are pretty good too. Have seen everything from Ballet, to dragshows, kid shows to the OSM here. Somethign for every taste. MAJOR CON: PArking is nearly impossible for a lot of shows. We have missed half of a symphany or ballet before due to lack of parking. As frustrating as it is, if you have the option for the 12$ parking when you buy your tickets, I would probably recommend purchasing it.

Nice little place near Quebec city old town you can reach on foot, very stylish and despite the little dimensions all the conforts are included. The bed is a bit too tiny, it was a good and economic option for a one night stay.

I'm here during the brutal heat wave, but hearing some wonderful music. The American dollar is quite strong with respect to the Canadian dollar, so the trip is affordable. Stay hydrated and take advantage of the wonderful restaurants.
