The building is currently closed for reconstruction, so couldn’t go inside nor really see much of the outside.

excellent exhibition and reconstructed chamber, with film telling you all about the making of Canada. We were told later that the story has been "cleansed" as most of it was done in the pub/ale house!!!

This is a very historic site in Canadian history. In 1864 the meeting that set out the basic plan for Confederation that took place in 1867, took place in this building. Since then the building has acted as the Procincial Legislature. It has been under...More

My wife and I were most excited about going through the Province House, particularly as it was during the 150th celebrations for the birthplace of Confederation. We were most disappointed when we turned up for a tour and found that it was closed for renovation....More

The province house is undergoing major renovations and in the years to come will be brilliant, however it is now a construction zone surrounded by painted plywood. If anyone was planning to make this a part of your trip hold off five years until it’s...More

As others have written, it seems strange that in Canada 150 the province a House is under complete renovation. Even the windows are boarded up. Still it is a significant historical building. If you walk along New Gorge Street you see some of the other...More
