This is a place for people who like to have a big themed / personalized party. They have plenty of space at the premium location with direct subway access and near the key intersection (easy for uber / taxi services) so that people don't worry about drinking too much and having too much fun :)

Attended Swirl TO ,well organised across the three rooms .The Art Deco influence of the building shows through .The 7 th floor was specifically designed for Mrs Eaton for high society balls .This heritage building has been sympathetically renovated .The food was excellent as was the music.

Three huge elegant rooms. We were greeted by some stunning hosts and whisked into a 007 themed party. A real classy feel. This venue also has a small stage.

This place is large and can easily handle a lot of people. This party was 350. I liked this place it felt elegant. Good layout. The food was mostly finger food. Had poutine, in a box, lobster mac and cheese, duck Cascadia, roast beef..... It was very good. There were a few other things going around. All were good. Plenty... More

I've been attending a gala event held annually at the Carlu for a number of years now. I love the history of this building, dating back to the 1930's when Eatons occupied the building and "the 7th floor" where the Carlu is located now and which was designed by Mrs. Eaton specifically to hold high society events. Eventually, after Eatons... More

There were so much fanfare when The Carlu opened after an expensively restorative surgery. I was therefore quite gleeful when the wedding of my best friend's daughter was held there. It was a chance to see this hyped up event facility. My husband and I rode up in the special elevator in the College Park to the 7th floor. Voila!... More

Our son was married recently at the Carlu.....what a wonderful space for a wedding and reception...the Art Deco style of the building and furnishings were amazing...the food was wonderful and service excellent...all in all, everything was way above what we were anticipating. Our son had arranged for valet parking ( not sure what that cost) but it was well worth... More

What an amazing place to have a party. The service was great and the food was even better. This place was totally redone to match the initial opening back in the 1930's.

I have used this venue a few times and have never been disappointed. They can cater the ambience and vibe based on your preference. Staff have always been great! Parking can be a challenge, especially if you have people attending from out of town. Although there is parking underneath the building - It just can be difficult to find if... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
