Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great time! So nice to not to concern yourself with cars behind you. Just the simple enjoyment of the trail with very little traffic!!! (of other cyclists, walkers, runners) A good smooth ride with several exploration opportunities into the small towns along the way especially heading east. Howe Island definitely more quiet but a nice ride. Locals super friendly and views over the water most pleasant to the eye.

This route is a combination trail, paved shoulder and back roads, ideal for every type of cyclist. People can also walk and rollerblade. I have only done the section between the Thousand Islands Parkway (Gananoque and Long Sault (Ingleside). Along the parkway there is a bike path so it is safe for even novice cyclists. There are points of interest and a new visitors' centre. New improvements to come with an injection of $1M in 2013. Further East the route cuts through the Parks of the St Lawrence making it a great activity while camping. There are also lots of motels and cyclist friendly inns along the way. My favourite section is around Morrisburg where you can cycle to Upper Canada Village and camp at the nearby Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
The route is relatively flat with some parts going through forest and swamps, along causeways and campgrounds where sightings of beaver, muskrat and birds are common. Some parts are gravel but most is paved. When riding on the main road like Hwy 2 the shoulders are wide and paved. Some sections on quieter roads do not have paved shoulders but traffic is light and drivers are respectful of cyclists. There is no charge to use the Waterfront Trail so it is accessible to all.

I wish we could've stayed longer here. This is such a nice trail along Lake Ontario. The weather was perfect as well as the scenery. The only thing missing was my dog. I saw lots of people riding bikes and scooters along with those walking and jogging.

Ride the trail from Toronto to Quebec as part of a tour to Newfoundland. It's a really nice way to cycle through Ontario following the water on dedicated cycle paths or quiet roads. Like most shared paths don't expect to keep a lot of speed as there are lots of people walking in the busier sections. Having said that there are many km without anyone.
Much better option than the highways. Finding food can be a problem as it routes you away from main areas wth shops. Also use map or a GPS for the route the signage can be a bit intermittent in a couple of sections mostly it is very easy to follow.

The trail was well maintained. Great for refreshing walk after a meal. I recommend this place to anyone who would like to enjoy the lake at their own pace.

Great location for a walk or a bike ride along the waterfront. Both the pedestrian and bike trails are well maintained. Wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
