The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

If I Could Throwback Time - I would see this show on repeat!
Mar. 2020
Loved the Second City's 83rd review so much that I have already seen it twice, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again! The humour and quality of improv and writing was top notch - I loved how they blended comedy with relevant, timely topics such as climate change, problematic historical figures and our telling of history, and unbearably long hold times when you call Rogers ;) A great show for the open-minded!

Incredibly hilarious and talented performers!

I recently saw two shows, If I could #Throwback time and The Second City Totally Likes you and both were absolutely hilarious. I brought different groups each time and everyone laughed hysterically and raved about the show. Great service throughout the show. Definitely go if you're looking for a fun evening.

A founder not recognized - shame on Andrew Alexander
Jul. 2019
The Second City staying in Toronto was the direct result of the investment of Sam Shopsowitz and Mitchell Gold. James Patry partnered with me and then stole it from me with the compliance of Andy Alexander. I have asked him to acknowledge my contribution by he refuses to do so - fearing I will sue him for what he had stolen from me. I have said that I just wanted recognition for what I did. He is a foolish man, keeping in the founding records James Patry - and ignoring me who brought James to the table. ANd James still owes money to me as well as he never completed his commitment. Unfortunately the lawyer who did the deal - George Ferguson QC never respected our agreement and signed a new one with Andrew not recognizing the fact that Moongold Productions Limited the corporate entity that replaced our agreement had no involvement of Mitchell Gold - he assumed Moongold was me and would not come to the table with the truth. shame.

Lots of laughs, great acting!

The cast is very talented , entertaining and their impromptu mixing with the audience was hilarious! Very enjoyable evening.
Adults only, went with another couple. We did agree that the LGBT (lesbian) skits were a bit raunchy, and not needed? Not sure...Bottom line, it was great to have a lot of good laughs.

From the most talented performers who take you, and your mind on a trip into the funny and comical world. With actions, song and skits you get to see up close these verse talent as you laugh. Their ability to delve deep into the humdrum of life with a new prospective. Truly magnificent . This is the reason we go, and take family and friends to Toronto so they can see what we see. Also, quoting clips of the show are funnier when shared with others who have seen it too..

Caught a show here whilst staying in Toronto for the weekend. The show itself was fantastic and the performers/ comedians were really on point with some great improv bits weaved beautifully into their script. The venue and service made this an all-round top notch night. Highly recommend getting front row seats if you can, meaning you can walk in and skip the line to be seated right away. Will go again when next in Toronto.

Everyone in our family was giggling

I ordered tickets the day before and the website was simple. Etickets are the way to go to avoid will call lineup. Skits and improv were hilarious. Kid shows are interactive and kids can volunteer to participate on stage. We always have a great time!!

Side note, Any possibility of a show for teenage audience?

Thanks so much for the kind feedback! Some of our shows will have a PG-13 rating vs an R rating. We usually recommend mainstage shows for ages 16+. Many of our teens actually perform in shows in our training centre!

Throw back to 70s

Wonderful sketch show with solid performances. Nostalgia and the not so well known history of our country and it’s leaders. Songs and some hilarious banter and play between performers . Speed timing and bringing in the laughs this is a fun night out . Tickets are reasonable, food was good just a light pub menu but served hot and fresh by a friendly staff. Food for 2 with drinks $50 .
Will be going back in future. It’s a 15 min walk from Union Stn , just enough to stretch the legs before sitting down to 2 hours of entertainment. There IS an intermission to get refreshed or a bit more to nibble. Excellent Adult humour not suitable for youngsters.

Thanks so much for the kind words and for the detailed review! We definitely thrive on being an affordable ticket in town with some awesome sketch comedy! We have family friendly shows during periods like March Break, long weekends, and throughout the summer for those looking for a more G-rated experience, or something more PG-13 with our Touring Company's shows. We're so happy to hear you had a great time and look forward to having you back!
