I have been here several times, every time it was nice. There's a place for children to have fun and be creative! Inside the the buildings you can find and an organic shop selling different things from seeds to grow a garden to gifts for everyone. Some early mornings there's a farmers market where you can pick up local freshness.... More

love to ride there on a bike, go to the market, have a coffee, wander around. HAve been there to see exhibits and a presentation. A wonderful spot in our city that is used well! Go for a walk there through ravine, or take a car and have brunch. It all works!

Evergreen Canada has done a phenominal thing for Toronto - it has taken an abandoned brick work site, and turned it into a model of enivornmental living. The conversion of the builds are fascinating - a mix of old and new. Whenever we are in Toronto we take the kids there to burn off some energy in the great trails... More

This unique place is a gem in busy Toronto. You can see and feel the passion of people at the farmers market or even the food truck (the Duck Confit Poutine, $10, was awesome, and it was a big serving). Can't wait to go there again when it's warmer.

I was there to pick up a Christmas tree for someone. Decent price. What I really liked was the food vendors, the occasional freebie piece of cheese and just the general idea of the place. Veggies, cheese, cool winter weather, some hot foods, general vendors. nice place to be outdoors even in the winter. Good stop for a little shop... More

The former site of a brick making factory Evergreen has turned this site into a wonderful destination. If you want to see nature, go on hikes, take bike rides, have a location for children to play in the children's garden (weekends) enjoy a snack - this is the place to go. A social enterprise - the proceeds from parking and... More

Here you talk directly to the farmer who produced what you are buying. It is totally organic. Lots of produce was just picked that morning. They come from as far away as Niagara Falls. Fruits grown here are available in season , like peaches, apples and even cheese, made right here in Ontario. Be sure to enjoy the fresh roasted... More

Nice spot to hike or rent a bike. More of a moderate to difficult level. The view from the top looking over the skyline is really nice.

Staying in East York

Neighbourhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
