So many great stories and delicious treats shared in the St. Lawerence Market food tour with Ian. This was our second tour with the company and we can't wait to try another. We've been going to the market for many years and had never tried many of the delicious treats available! Great way to learn more about our city -... More

We've been on a few food tours during our travels and we've had a wonderful time at all of them but there were a few reasons that this was the best EVER! 1) Ian was a wonderful tour guide. He was funny, personable, knowledgeable & had great taste. The tour began with a short (& manageable for my parents, my... More

We really enjoyed our recent St. Lawrence Market tour with Ian. He was really nice and took his time showing us many historical places in the neighbourhood. We loved his descriptions of the architecture and significance of many buildings, including the incredibly beautiful St. James Cathedral. The Market was very festive and bustling but Ian navigated it quite well. We... More

We did Uncork the County winery tour in Sept 2016. We were REALLY excited to do this, and looked forward to learning about a new wine region. The company tried to fit in another couple, friends of ours, and we were impressed by their communication and effort to accommodate and offer options, even though it didn't work out. GOOD STUFF:... It was a a very cold day but we hardly noticed, Ian was very knowledgeable and a great guide. The history he shared of Toronto and of the St. Lawrence market were factors we has TO residents had never heard.

This tour is a wonderful idea for any corporate team building or appreciation events. The foods were diverse and the time spent walking and learning about the city were valuable bonding moments. The tour (Riverside and Leslieville) itself had incredible food, and the tour guide (Ian) was very knowledgeable of the surrounding history –something that enhanced the tour and the... More

While we now live in Ottawa, we did live in Toronto for over 10 years and so, when my husband told me we were going on a foodie tour of Queen Street East/Broadview area I was ambivalent. WELL - was I ever wrong!! This tour was wonderful. Ian, who led the tour had such intimate knowledge of the stories of... More

We went on the St Lawrence market tour with Ian. He was engaging and knowledgable not only of the food but also the history and culture of the market and surrounding areas. There was good variety and certainly adequate quantity! Ian even helped us to arrange takeaway of the food that we couldn't finish. All in all a very pleasant... More

We've done two tours with Culinary Adventures in the past few months. Leslieville/Riverview and St Lawrence Market. Our tour guide was Ian who is personable and so knowledgeable about food and the city of Toronto. Each area he took us we had amazing food and learned a lot of history. Highly recommend for a great time and great food. We... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
