The Segway is easy to learn how to handle and the guides were thorough in explaining what not to do and any safety issues to be aware of. Erik and Katie led our tour and managed to convey the history of the Distillery District in an entertaining format. Great fun and I would recommend this activity!

This was my second time doing the 60 minutes Segway tour, and it was just as fun as the first time! First of all, we had Josh as a guide and he was extremely personable and was able to make jokes and really made the tour that much better! I would recommend this to everyone I know, as its something... More

Will our guide did an excellent job sharing information and stories about the Toronto distillery district. Segways are fun and the area is filled with interesting shops and boutiques and excellent food!

Joseph Landau and Meagan Fairholm, thank you for making our tour so much fun. I was a little apprehensive however I had nothing to worry about it was a wonderful experience. Anyone could do this so don't let nerves put you off. My only regret is that it ended so quickly. Was a definite highlight of our trip to Toronto.... More

Fun, fun, fun. That is the simplest way to describe the segway tour of the historic distillery district. I went with my wife and '12' year old daughter. You need to be aware that there are minimum weight and age requirements, so check before you book. Learning to 'ride' a segway is 'easy peasy' so don't be put off by... More

We did the walking tour September 24th with family. Our guide Josh was very informative, personable and funny. He showed us a different side of the distillery through photographs and his commentary. The tour held a special significance for us as our Dad worked there until the distillery closed in 1990. Also had a very nice lunch on one of... More

Hi catherine, That's really cool that your dad worked here as one of the last 36 employees on site, the Distillery District has done a wonderful job of preserving much of the heritage and we're glad to tell the story and connect with people like you that have a personal collection. If you'd like further documentation, check out the Distillery... More

I enjoy the distillery district, so I was very fortunate that my family gave me the gift of segwaying with Go Tours Canada for my birthday. I loved learning the history of the distillery area as well as being given a lesson about the local chocolate maker and boutique brewery's beers. My instructor and guide should be given special credit.... More

Hi Miriam, It is pretty easy, isn't it? We try to emphasize how easy learning and then actually touring is on the Segway so we're always happy to hear it works. See you again and keep in mind we hire in the Spring ;-) More

We took a walking tour on Sept 24th, it was great, very informative. Josh was funny and knowledgable about the Distillery District. The beer tasting was nice, looking forward to the whiskey tasting in 2018. We live in Distillery and wish we did the tour earlier! Thanks Josh!

We're stoked too for the new distillery to open here and it's pretty safe to assume it'll join our roster of tasting options. See you around the Distillery! More

We are just back from the Distillery district tour and I was really impressed with the knowledge, activities provided by Go Tours and the look and feel of the area. The Segway tour, beer tasting, Saki tasting, Oil and Vinegar tasting and Chocolate tasting were part of the tour. I highly recommend doing them all, along with a walking tour... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
